Dolly Parton has revealed Beyonce has recorded a cover of her iconic song Jolene which may appear on her new country album, Renaissance Act II.

Parton, 78, first released Jolene in 1974 with Beyonce, 42, using the iconic country track for her new foray into the musical genre, after releasing chart-topping tracks Texas Hold 'Em and 16 Carriages.

Speaking to Knox News, Parton said: 'I think she's recorded Jolene and I think it's probably gonna be on her country album, which I'm very excited about that.

'I love her! She's a beautiful girl and a great singer.

'We've kind of sent messages back and forth through the years. And she and her mother were like fans, and I was always touched that they were fans, and I always thought she was great.'

Act II will be released on March 29.

After Beyonce announced her new country album, Parton took to social media to write: "I'm a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she's done a country album.

'So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can't wait to hear the full album!'

Beyonce surprised fans by teasing forthcoming new music as she stunned in a Verizon Super Bowl ad last month — for which she reportedly received a $30million payout.

The  icon — who attended the big game alongside other notable stars — moved through various personas in the minute-long commercial, attempting to 'break the internet' with over-the-top performances.

And just like she did in eight years ago, the Grammy-winning musician blew fans away on Sunday as she dropped two new singles.

As she announced an upcoming album, a country-genre follow-up to 2022's Renaissance, she also released two new singles in tandem.

Beyonce showed off her trim waist, wearing a silver bikini top and tiny heart-shaped metal bottoms attached to a belt in the new artwork for her song Texas Hold 'Em.

In Texas Hold 'Em she croons: 'This ain't Texas / Ain't no hold 'em / So our lays our cards down, down, down, down.'

'I'll be damned if I can't slow-dance with you/ Come pour some sugar on me, honey too/ It's a real-life boogie and a real-life hoedown/ Don't be a b****, come take it to the floor now, woo, ha.'

Meanwhile on 16 Carriages the singer reflects on life's struggles.

'Sixteen carriages drivin' away/ While I watch them ride with my dreams away/ To the summer sunset on a holy night/ On a long back road, all the tears I fight.'

'It's been thirty-eight summers, and I'm not in my bed/ On the back of the bus and a bunk with the band/ Overworked and overwhelmed/ I might cook, clean, but still won't fold/ Still workin' on my life, you know.'
