As Emily Ratajkowski stepped onto the Vanity Fair red carpet for the Oscars after party in a white Jacquemus gown, she turned heads for both her glowing beauty and the fact that she was sporting her most daring look yet.
The gown, described as the model's 'boldest look ever' by Vogue, was a brilliant white shade and appeared to be sculpted to her body, only just touching her silhouette without clinging in an effect that resembled 'floating'.
From the side angle, the model left little to the imagination, flashing a little 'side boob' as the bodice of the dress covered her modesty, but showed off the outline of her breasts.
The bodice of the Jacquemus gown was asymmetrical - and has been likened to a 'leaning tower' by some - and drew a sharp line just across Emily's collarbone.
The model, who has also had acting roles in films such as Gone Girl opposite Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, accessorised her gown with teardrop diamanté earrings.
Emily Ratajkowski, 32, from California, sported a very daring white Jacquemus gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party last night
She opted for smokey eyeshadow and ever-so-slightly backcombed hair to complete the daring but stunning look.
Her Jacquemus gown was from the French fashion house's Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection, according to Glamour.
In addition to the very daring cut, with a deep slit down to the waist that exposed Emily's chest from the side angle, the gown boasted a cape detail with a chiffon-style material.
Although the daring dress covered her modesty for the most part, Emily did suffer a little 'nip slip' when she leaned at an angle and the material came away from her bosy, exposing her breast.
The model has opted for her most daring red carpet look yet in the spring/summer 2024 ready-to-wear gown
The brilliant white asymmetric dress had a bodice that appeared to 'float' on Emily's body, plus a chiffon-style cape detail
Vogue's analysis of the dress as one of her boldest red carpet looks ever suggested the effect of the gown was that she had 'emerged' from the carpet
Vogue's analysis of the unusual gown determined: 'The shape rendered Ratajkowski as a woman emerging from a rock, bringing a sense of artistry (as well as sensuality) to the red carpet.'
It added that her choice to forego accessories apart from the teardrop earrings gave the effect of Ratajkowski 'emerging' from the red carpet.
While talking to Vogue last year in 2023, the My Body author opened about her evolving sense of style.
'I think that fashion really used to intimidate me. I felt like there were rules that I didn’t understand,' she expressed to the outlet.
'The rules are meant to be broken, once you understand the rules then you can have fun. I think I also, in general, take it less seriously than I ever did before. I'm less afraid of risk.'
Emily's daring gown suffered a little wardrobe malfunction in the form of a 'nip slip' when her breast became exposed
Emily opted for minimal accessories and donned only teardrop earrings which Vogue said added to the effect of the gown
The 32-year-old mother-of-one chose her signature make-up style - a smokey eye and a nude lip
The model has been keeping busy and earlier this week on Friday, she celebrated her son Sly's third birthday.
She shares the little one with ex-husband Sebastian Bear McClard - whom she was married to from 2018 until their split in 2022.
Ratajkowski took to her main Instagram page to share a slideshow that contained various short clips of her son that were taken in the past.
The beauty also penned a sweet caption as she wished Sly a happy birthday and also gushed that she was 'lucky' to be his mother.
'Sly is THREE! This day three years ago I felt my beautiful baby's soul come into the world and held him to my chest and my god—how the time has flown.'
The model, who wrote My Body in 2021 which examines her relationship with her body and the concept of other people consuming it because of her modelling work, recently revealed to Glamour UK that her perspective on feminism has changed.
She told the magazine that she no longer believes in choice feminism, which are expressions of feminism that emphasise a woman's freedom of choice.
In particular, she referred to the Blurred Lines music video which propelled her onto the world stage more than a decade ago, but was met with fierce criticism due to the song's lyrics, and also the fact that models went topless in the clip.
She said:'I [now] don't agree with choice feminism. When I was in my early twenties that's something I talked about, but that's also what I correct in the book…
'God, I was saying that because I wanted to protect myself and believe something, because the alternative was too terrifying and too depressing.
'And even the story I told myself or talked about with Blurred Lines this kind of 'Well, it was fun and it was empowering', there were moments like that, yes. But there were moments on set that were so clear about who was in power.'
Choice feminism encourages women to embrace the opportunities they have in life and see their choices as justified.
Critics assert it can lead to political stagnation because critical judgement of the actions of others are discouraged due to the potential of being labelled a 'bad' feminist.
On her book My Body, Emily recalled how she was criticised by some women after the book came out who she felt could not separate the contents of the book from her public persona.
She said: 'I think that even in the experience of the publishing of the book, a lot of the first articles that came out were other women picking it apart in a way that I don't think was fair, actually.
'Because it's a collection of essays about my experience. But they could not separate me as a person, and even referenced recent Instagram posts in critiquing my book.'
