Kobe Bryant statue contains MULTIPLE spelling errors in the engraving of the box score of the late Lakers legend's 81-point game... including the names of Jose Calderon and Von Wafer

There are at least three spelling errors on the engraved base of the recently unveiled Kobe Bryant statue outside of Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

At the base of the 19-foot bronze statue, engraved in the stone, there's the box score from Bryant's famous 81-point game that he had against the Toronto Raptors.

But German journalist Andre Voigt discovered multiple spelling mistakes - including players' names.

In a statement, a Lakers spokesperson said, 'We have been aware of this for a few weeks and are already working to get it corrected soon.'

Among those affected include Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers teammate Von Wafer - which the engraving has incorrectly spelled as 'Vom Wafer'.

Toronto wasn't exempt from the spelling errors either - with guard Jose Calderon being misspelled as 'Jose Calderson'.

The fact that Calderon would also go on to play for the Lakers adds insult to injury.

But the cherry on top would have to be that the statue has the phrase DNP - Coach's Decision spelled as 'DNP - Coach's Decicion'.

That's made worse by the face that the misspelling is directly below the correct spelling of 'decision' for another DNP player above it.

Bryant's 81 point game has occupied a special place in NBA history - as it's been the closest anyone has gotten to cracking Wilt Chamberlain's record mark of 100 points he set back in 1962.

The closes anyone has gotten to matching Bryant's mark was Luka Doncic - who dropped 73 points in a close 148-143 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

This statue of Bryant was unveiled last month in a special ceremony outside of the Lakers' home arena.

Among the Lakers records Byrant holds include: Most points, most games played, most minutes played, most field goals and field goal attempts, most 2-point and 3-point attempts, most free throws, and most steals.
