A 12-year-old boy from St. Louis, Missouri, has died three months after a car crash with an illegal migrant that left his family severely injured.

The car that Travis Wolfe was traveling in was struck head-on by a vehicle being driven by a female Venezuelan migrant who was in the country illegally.

Endrina Bracho was driving along the road in the wrong direction, at twice the speed limit with her own two children in the back of her minivan.

Such was the impact of the crash, it left Travis on life support in St. Louis Children’s Hospital with brain injuries from which he did not recover. He died last Wednesday.

Dusty Wildman, Travis' brother-in-law, said. 'He hit his head on the window and possibly the roof as well. So, he had damage in his brain stem and his brain as well.'

Travis was rushed to St. Louis Children's Hospital, while his parents who were in the car with him were taken to a different hospital for their injuries.

His dad, Tim, had broken wrists and ribs, while his mom, Steph, suffered a broken ankle and sternum. They have both since been released from hospital.

A GoFundMe was set up to help the family pay for Travis´medical expenses.

Bracho, who was identified as the driver of the car that hit the Wolfe family, is alleged to have been traveling at speeds of up to 75mph along a road with a 40mph speed limit.

She is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter in the first degree, two counts of assault in the second degree, two counts of endangering a child in the first degree, and one count of operating a vehicle without a valid license.

Court documents say 'she is here illegally from Venezuela' and was driving in the wrong lane when she hit the Jeep the Wolfe’s were traveling in.

Her own children were also in their family's car on the night of the crash and are now being cared for by their father.

Bracho is currently in custody and being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond, with a hearing set for April 8.
