No arrests had been reported as of Tuesday. Medina, who practiced mixed martial arts, went viral in July 2023 after he pummeled a 15-year-old Subway restaurant worker.

A surveillance camera captured Medina walking into the kitchen and punching the defenseless teen during a span of 13 seconds while a female coworker pleaded for him to stop.

Another worker could be seen in the background tending to a customer instead of coming to the boy’s aid.

Medina then kicked the boy and placed him in a chokehold, and threw him to the ground before punching him on the head.

He stood over the teen and appeared to say some words while he adjusted his shirt, and then proceeded to punch the kid again.

Medina fled the restaurant and was arrested August 5 and charged with attempted homicide.

The suspect was smirking in an image posted during his arrest.

San Luis Potosí state authorities investigating the incident later shut down three businesses, including a gym where he trained mixed martial arts fighters, due to several infractions.

He was placed in pretrial detention and released from prison December 16 after the judge lowered the attempted murder charge to minor injuries.

Medina, who was looking at a prison term ranging from 12 to 50 years, was eligible to have the charge conditionally suspended as long as he complied with orders from the judge to make reparation payments, remain at his residence and not contact the victim.
