A transgender businesswoman from Renton, Washington, who was reported missing last month has been found dead near a cemetery tomb in Mexico.
Reyna Hernández's corpse was discovered wrapped in a blanket and tied to a tree at the El Centinela Pantheon in Mexicali on March 2, according to a copy an incident report from the Mexicali State Attorney General's Office obtained by DailyMail.com.
The 54-year-old victim's body showed signs of violence. At least 20 black caps were left strewn around Hernández's remains, the prosecutor noted.
The autopsy showed that Hernandez's death was caused by a gunshot to the head.
Police have now arrested 61-year-old Louie Hernández, the dead woman's husband.

Hernández's soon-to-be ex-husband Hernández was apprehended by the military at a checkpoint in Baja California on March 9.
The 61-year-old was carrying an large amount of cash, six packages containing fentanyl and firearm ammunition.
At the time of the arrest, Louie Hernández was driving a 2009 Ford Flex registered to Reyna Hernández's stepson.
It's unknown if Reyna Hernández was murdered in the United States or Mexico.
'It is a case of a special investigation where we are in coordination with United States authorities because there is a possibility that she has been deprived of her life in United States,' Mexicali state prosecutor Elena Andrade told reporters on Monday.
'It is one of the lines of investigation that has not yet been corroborated and that her body has been brought here and thrown into the pantheon.'
Prosecutor Andrade confirmed that the victim was a transgender woman.

The Renton Police Department said Reyna Hernández left her home February 26 to meet with Louie Hernández to discuss the separation of property and failed to return to her residence.
Road cameras spotted the vehicle in Salinas, California on February 27, four days before Reyna Hernández's corpse was found.
Reyna Hernández was reported missing February 28 after friends became worried that she had not returned home, answered calls, or returned to her business, Reyna Hair Salon.
The Renton Police Department is investigating the incident as a domestic violence crime.
'This is the worst possible outcome, and our hearts go out to Reyna's family and friends,' said Investigations Commander Chandler Swain.
Renton Police Department will be seeking Louie Hernández's extradition if Mexican authorities accuse him for the murder of Reyna Hernández.
'To have this as the outcome is just devastating,' said Meeghan Black of the Renton Police Department. 'It's now gone across country lines, not just state lines but country lines and we were working very well with Mexican officials and we're getting the federal officials involved to try and figure out who takes jurisdiction when we figure out that timeline.'
