An angry dad has been arrested after he stormed into a high school classroom and confronted a student he accused of harassing his daughter.
Aaron Thomas, 38, burst in to the class at Paulsboro High School in New Jersey, near Philadelphia, Monday morning.
The father from nearby Gibbstown arrived at the school around 11.30am to pull his daughter out of class, but then decided to confront the other student.
Video recorded by another student showed Thomas confront a student and demand he apologize to his daughter, who was near the door.
'You got a problem with my daughter? Apologize to my daughter,' he demanded.
Aaron Thomas, 38, burst in to the class at Paulsboro High School in New Jersey, and confronted a student he accused of harassing his daughter
Thomas was arrested that afternoon and charged with two counts of third-degree terroristic threats, along with simple assault, trespassing and disorderly conduct
The teenager repeatedly protested that he 'did nothing to her' as Thomas towered over him.
'You heard what the f**k I said. Apologize to my daughter… Now,' Thomas insisted.
The boy said the teenage girl 'had pictures of me and my mama' but it was unclear what the photos were and what exactly he was accused of doing.
An affidavit of probable cause only explained the teenage girl was having problems with another student over photos that were shared. No further details about the nature of the photos was released.
Discussion on social media claimed there was no bullying and the girl told her father an exaggerated version of events.
'They was just airdropping regular pictures and she starts sending that white boy['s] family so he did it back and she told her dad that he started it... she threatened to call her dad up there to fight him and did absolutely that,' one woman wrote.
Another student in the corner of the room came to his classmate's defense, prompting Thomas to turn his anger on him.
'B**** a** n****,' he called the second boy during a mostly inaudible exchange, before an adult finally intervened.
A teacher (left) tried to usher Thomas out of the room, as the angry dad said: 'I'm just proving a point that these little b****** in here are talking about my daughter'
Thomas got into a scuffle with a student who came to the first boy's defense, and police alleged he grabbed his arm and made threats
A teacher put his arm around Thomas' back and attempted to usher him out of the room, telling him 'seriously, it's not worth it'.
'I'm just proving a point that these little b****** in here are talking about my daughter, but y'all are some B**** a** n*****, some hoe a** n*****,' Thomas said.
'Look at you, shaking p****** your f****** cleats. If I have to come up here again I'm going to slap fire on both of y'all... you heard what I said, boy.'
Thomas eventually reached the door to leave, but charged back to the second student after the boy called him a 'b**** a** n****.'
'You come over here and say that,' he said, as he crossed the room to confront the student.
'What's the problem? Get off my shirt,' Thomas continued as the pair appeared to jostle. Court documents alleged Thomas grabbed the boy's arm and made threats.
'You trying to punch me? You can't come up around here and hit kids, what's wrong with you, bro? I ain't a b***h or nothing,' the student responded.
'I don't care who it is, I'll knock anyone out of this school,' Thomas said as he stormed out of the classroom at the end of the video.
The school didn't call police until almost three hours later, and officers arrived about 2.15pm. School security wasn't notified until after Thomas left.
The teacher told police he didn't radio for security because he wanted to de-escalate the situation and feared involving security would inflame tensions.
Paulsboro High School said it was investigating the incident with the Paulsboro Police Department in accordance with district protocols
Thomas was arrested that afternoon and charged with two counts of third-degree terroristic threats, along with simple assault, trespassing and disorderly conduct.
He spent the night in jail and was released on bail by a judge on Tuesday afternoon, ordered not to contact the students involved or their families.
Parents at the school and locals are divided over whether Thomas did the right thing by protecting his daughter, or if he went too far in storming the classroom.
'If schools would do something in terms of intervening when these disputes happen parents wouldn’t have take matters into their own hands,' one wrote.
'Arrest my behind because don’t ask me not to be a momma bear for my kids. And to put a dad through this for being a protective dad is 100% wrong.'
'I totally get it. Shouldn't have touched the student... but confronting him was warranted (especially since the school/other parents didn't try to stop the bullying),' another wrote.
'That man is wrong jumping in those kids faces like that he is a grown adult and handled this disgustingly,' a third added.
The school district said it was investigating the incident with the Paulsboro Police Department in accordance with district protocols.
'Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, additional details about the situation cannot be released to the public,' it said.
'Safety and security of our staff and students is paramount. Unfortunate situations such as these gives us an opportunity to reflect and analyze current practices to further strengthen the district's safety and security procedures to ensure that our schools are a safe place for all students and staff.'
