The restaurant, which begins with a tasting menu of five to six courses and then progresses through 12-14 courses, has garnered two Michelin stars and a flood of praise from people online.
However, the authentic Japanese restaurant has come under fire after diner Luis Carlos Zaragoza took to TikTok to complain in a now-viral video, which has so far amassed over 7.1 million views.

Sushi Noz came unbder fire after diner Luis Carlos Zaragoza took to TikTok to complain in a now-viral video, which has so far amassed over 7.1 million views
He captioned the clip: 'Sushi Noz in NYC, unfortunately not worth a special trip anymore!!'
'This is our first negative review in a long time. A meal at this restaurant costs $700 per person with a wine pairing. This is our sixth time dining here, they recently just got an additional Michelin star so now they have two.
'But, believe it or not, our experience here since having two stars was actually the most negative one,' he said at the beginning of the video.
In the clip, Luis showcased their dining experience as well as the food, which included red bonito sashimi, panko fried flounder with caviar, and leaves of white truffle.
However, while the menu sounded elegant and certainly tasty - the diner and content creator explained that all was not as lavish as it seemed, admitting that he had several grievances to air about his experience at the restaurant, the most sensational of which saw him accusing the eatery of gender discrimination
He claimed that his friend - who is a woman - was told by the staff at the venue that she would be receiving smaller portions than those given to men, despite her bill still totaling the same amount at the end of the meal. .
'Our friend - who was the only woman in our group - was told she was getting smaller portions,' he explained.
'We know this is a common practice for some places for omakase, but she didn't ask for it and if the price also hasn't been adjusted to account for the smaller portions, then everyone should receive the same amount.'

Luis also complained about the wine - adding that the wine pairing seemed a 'bit off' and 'disjointed'.
'The choice to pair the wine with that dish was never clearly conveyed, which for $200, you expect to get a sense of why each one was chosen for that specific dish,' he explained.
He also claimed that the chef 'snatched' a piece of nigiri and 'threw it in the trash' in front of them after one of their pals left it sitting for more than a 'few seconds.'
Luis noted that they wouldn't be back to the Michelin-starred restaurant.
Many people on the web were left furious and took to the comments section of the clip to share their frustrations.
One person said: 'Smaller portions for women.'
Another user added: 'Sushi Noz - you do not exist in my mind.'
Someone else said: 'Smaller portions for women when there is basically no food anyway.'

'One) Sushi isn’t worth $700. Two) Women getting smaller portions is wild. Imagine paying pull price for less food just because of that,' commented another person.
'Giving me smaller portions because I’m a woman sends me into a rage,' one user wrote.
Another person said: 'It’s wild to charge $700 and have horrendous hospitality.'
'This is the review I genuinely needed,' added another user.
Someone else added: 'Wow! That place sounds awful!!! Smaller portions for women and same price!? Forget it!!'
Speaking to Today, Luis he said that he and his friends had been to the California location and loved it, but that the restaurant in the Big Apple left much to be desired.
He told the outlet: 'We had been to Sushi Noz several times and never expected to have the experience we did.

'It’s a nuanced issue because tradition is often viewed as something to be preserved and respected, but we had to draw the line when someone in our group, the only woman, was given less. '
A spokesperson for Sushi Noz told Today: 'The meal begins with five or six otsumami (small plates), which can be quite filling on their own.
'Before the sushi section of the menu begins, the chef will often ask first-time guests if they prefer smaller rice portions, an offer which they are more than welcome to decline.
'This is done out of consideration for the guest, to make sure they are able to enjoy the full progression of the omakase menu without becoming too full.
'In a traditional Japanese restaurant like ours, cultural and language barriers naturally lead to misunderstandings from time to time — that being said, this is the first time in six years that we’ve heard of these actions interpreted this way, which couldn’t have been further from the chef’s intentions.'
