In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Jacob Chansley told the host that he believed it was his 'shamanic duty' to attend the January 6 riots.
Chansley, who is better known as the 'QAnon Shaman' - became the poster boy for the January 6 insurrection with his chest-baring fur outfit, red white and blue face paint and megaphone.
Appearing on Carlson's 'Uncensored', Chansley claimed that he went to D.C. ensure that the 'highest possible frequencies of love and peace and harmony were plugged into the grid.'
Chansley, 35, was arrested on January 9 on federal charges of 'knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.'
He initially pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 41 months, though he was released early on May 25, 2023.

The QAnon Shaman has now told Carlson that he was simply fulfilling his religious duties by attending the Washington, DC, riots.
'I even played Donald Trump's video tweet over my megaphone and told everybody to go home,' he told Carlson.
'The whole reason why I went to DC was because Washington, DC, is built on electromagnetic ley lines. These are the the lines that go around the planet,' Chansley explained.
Carlson told is guest that his reputation stemmed partly from his crazy January 6 costume, which consisted of a fur hat with horns and red, white and blue face paint.
'One of the reasons it was so easy to call for your murderer and to arrest you and send you to prison is because you were dressed in facepaint and horns,' Carlson said - adding 'so it was kind of obvious that you were a nutcase.'
Chansley told Carlson that he has been dressing that was for years, not just for the January 6 riots.
'I am a spiritual activist. More than a political one,' he said.

'So I've been dressing that way for a long time. I largely take from what is like almost like the yoga shaman tradition, where they shock the cognitive system by addressing in a like elaborate fashion, and in doing so by shocking the cognitive system,' he explained.
Chansley believes that opting for bold fashion statements makes people 'more likely to absorb the information that the shaman brings to them.'
The information that he is trying to relay is that 'we are most certainly living in a social construct and a cultural paradigm that is based on misinformation.'
He explained that the regalia he wore on January 6 was 'not a costume' but instead a 'shamanic regalia' that has symbolism.
The coyote tail he wore is symbolic in the Navajo tradition of being 'the trickster' or 'the liar'. 'So I've got the tricksters by the tails. I'm wearing the trickster skin.'
All of his tattoos are shamanic tattoos - which he says are 'very well earned,' and compared them to how military members wear ribbons on their chest.
Chansley also told Carlson that Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar were 'ghosted' when they tried to visit him at the Alexandria Detention Center.
During the interview on Carlson's 'Uncensored' Chansley repeatedly insisted that January 6 was a 'deep state set-up'.
'I understand the depths of government corruption and the mockingbird media's corruption,' he said - adding that he didn't take it personally because he knew all they had done was 'dehumanize' him.
The __ went on to explain the 'deep state' - which he described as a tyrannical government that has taken over the country and is forcing American citizens to comply.
Carlson praised Chansley for his explanation, insisting that he wasn't being 'patronizing,' despite being amazed and shocked by the QAnon shaman's basic explanation.

In November, Chansley said he was interested in running for Congress. The 35-year-old filed a statement of interest indicating he wants to run for the seat that will be vacated by the retirement of Rep. Debbie Lesko, R-Ariz.
Chansley pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obstructing an official proceeding in connection with the Capitol insurrection.
He made a heartfelt apology in the January 6 case, saying 'I deeply regret and am very sorry I entered into the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. I should not have been there. Period. I was wrong. Period.'
His attorney Albert Watkins described Chansley as 'vulnerable to propaganda' and said 'Mr. Chansley, a long avowed and practicing Shaman, has repudiated the "Q" previously assigned to him and requests future references to him be devoid of use of the letter "Q".'
During his trial, Chansley was described by prosecutors as 'the public face of the Capitol riot.'

The January 6 rioter has since changed his tune and said in July 2023 that he wants his pela reversed, adding that he never 'denounced Q or the QAnon community.'
He also flipped on his attorney's claims of mental illness, saying 'I am not schizophrenic, bipolar, depressed or delusional.'
