A C-3PO head owned by Anthony Daniels, the actor who played the droid, has sold for $843,750.
The piece of movie memorabilia, from 1983's Return of the Jedi, commanded the six-figure sum Tuesday through the auction house Propstore Auction, TMZ reported Wednesday.
Propstore officials told the outlet that the head was featured on camera in multiple scenes in the third installment in the film series, which was directed by Richard Marquand and written by Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas.
The auction house said that the head, made of fiberglass, was the last one up for sale in a lot Daniels provided, according to the outlet, and that it was not immediately clear who placed the winning bid.
The head of the overly-caution protocol droid lights up, according to Propstore, and is composed of three separate parts that interlock.

Daniels said of moving on from the items, 'I had all this stuff, almost all of it was in cupboards, drawers and in attics. Nobody was looking at it, nobody was treasuring it, if you will. And it was too good to throw away.' Pictured last year in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, England
Daniels earlier this month chat with The Hollywood Reporter about the emotional components of parting with the sentimental item.
'It is not only the prop that I wore, but it was also a prop I would use in interviews to identify myself,' Daniels told the outlet. 'It's very much, "You don't know my face, but you know this face.'"
He said that during a photoshoot promoting the item, he 'had a slight wobble' when it came down to letting go of the head and other pieces of memorabilia he's selling through the auctioneer.
Daniels said he asked himself, 'Am I right to move this on' in selling the items, which he has owned for decades.
'I have lived with these items for 50 years, some of them and I have very mixed feelings,' he said.
Daniels added, 'I had all this stuff, almost all of it was in cupboards, drawers and in attics. Nobody was looking at it, nobody was treasuring it, if you will. And it was too good to throw away.'
The auction house, in a listing for the C-3PO head, estimated the final sale price would land between $500,000 - $1,000,000.
The head was showcased in multiple scenes in Return of the Jedi during the Rebel Alliance's battle in Endor, where they are stationed at the end of the film amid the collapse of the Empire.

Propstore said that the Star Wars droid 'stands as one of the most recognizable cinema designs of all time,' as 'this screen-matched C-3PO costume head, with direct provenance to the production, is one of the most significant artifacts from the original Star Wars film to come to market.'
