A New York singer who claimed to be an 'ambassador at large' with 'immunity rights' was arrested for allegedly driving a car with fake diplomatic license plates.

Cecilia Selina Mercado, a 32-year-old singer born in Bronx who performs under the moniker 'Sessi', was taken into custody by Sunny Isles Beach police on Tuesday evening after being seen behind the wheel of an Audi Q5 with fake diplomatic tags.

According to her arrest report, Mercado told officials that she is a 'diplomat' and an 'ambassador at large' with immunity rights - a claim she continues to maintain.

Video footage from the moment of her arrest shows Mercado behind the wheel of the car, telling officers that the car was registered with the 'Department of State'.

An officer is seen holding her arm and asking her to step out as her passenger, later identified as Scott Huss, makes the bizarre claim that she is not a US citizen - despite her being born in the Bronx - and yells that police 'don't have jurisdiction' over her.

A voice is heard telling the two cops they will lose their jobs and that they will have to pay Mercado $250,000 after he takes them to court.

Ultimately, the cop yanks Mercado out of the car and handcuffs the singer.

Officials later noted that despite possessing a Florida driver's license, she handed them her passport when they asked for identification.

The police department later released a statement: 'The female driver shown in the video was stopped by our officers for traffic violations. She then stated she had "immunity". She repeatedly refused to comply with officers' orders and was placed in handcuffs.

'Upon further investigation, it was determined that the diplomatic tag that was affixed to the car was counterfeit and the female driver was arrested for driving with a counterfeit tag.'

A special agent with the Department of State also confirmed that the license plate on the Audi was 'not a valid diplomat tag as a diplomat tag has several letters in addition to numbers', according to Local10

Mercado has not yet elaborated why she thinks she has diplomatic immunity or is an ambassador.

After her arrest, Huss told 7News: 'He [the officer] unlocked the car, opened the car door, and grabbed Sessi by the arm. Her immunity is 100 percent authentic.

She was released from jail on Wednesday on a $2,500 bond and on her way out, told Local 10 that she was indeed born in the Bronx and had not denounced her US citizenship.

The reporter questioned 'Weren’t you born in the Bronx?' to which Mercado replied: 'I was born in the Bronx, New York.'

The inquirer then asks if she had denounced her citizenship to which the singer responded: 'I am an American state national'.

When asked about the plates, Mercado said: 'They are not fake. They are completely registered to my private trust and my private vehicle which, by law, I am allowed to have a vehicle under a trust'.

Officials noted that the tags were fake and asked the driver to step out of the car. But when he resisted, cops busted the Maybach's window open, dragged him to the ground and forcefully handcuffed him

But despite being let go, she was pulled over once again before the day was over.

She was later picked from the Center in a Mercedes Maybach, also fitted with a counterfeit diplomatic license plate, by Huss and a driver identified as Andres Lopez by local news

The trio were on their way to Sunny Isles Beach when they were once again stopped by cops.

Officials noted that the tags were fake and asked the driver to step out of the car.

But when he resisted, cops busted the Maybach's window open, dragged him to the ground and forcefully handcuffed him.

Footage from the moment shows officers pulling multiple guns out of the car and impounding the vehicle.

After Lopez's arrest, Mercado said: 'They had guns to the car; I just got out of jail. This is not funny. This is messed up.'

She has since then posted a series of Instagram stories and told her 195,000 followers that people are saying 'false things and she has always been a 'good community girl'.

'Well all my friends and family show support on this for me! People in the comments and the media are saying false things... but it's okay my God is great.

'And this Officer was out a line.

'I will not give up and stand my ground too many things going on this world especially me, I have been such a community girl and so good to my community... not okay! I have family in NYC police department.

'It's not okay.. they wouldn't treat anyone like this... will get justice.'

Huss, her 'rapper' boyfriend who goes by the name Jryako also posted an Instagram story - oddly claiming 'natural law and common law are the only laws that apply to humans'.

'This is a really Key issue. Natural Law and Common Law are the only laws which apply to humans and they deal only with harming other people or causing them loss, and outside of those restrictions, a human has free and unlimited entitlement to do anything he chooses which complies with these principles.

'As opposed to this, Acts of Congress, "Statutes" and Statutory Instrument "Contracts" do not apply to the human but only to the piece of paper which is the LEGAL PERSONALITY which has no reality. As the legal fiction—the LEGAL PERSONALITY-was created by the company called "THE UNITED STATES".'

He further went on to post a reel of a TikToker telling viewers that a man won $250,000 after he sued for being pulled over for not having a driver's license or valid plates.

Officials are continuing investigation into the case.
