NYPD detectives are urgently seeking a female subway passenger filmed stabbing a gunman during a train brawl, shortly before he was shot with his own weapon.
The woman, who has not been identified, was seen stabbing the unnamed victim, 36, in the back several times as he fought with another male passenger aged 32.
'You stabbed me? You stabbed me?' the shooting victim said to the woman repeatedly, as she responds: 'I didn't do nothing' while blood seeped from his shirt.
Terrified commuters scrambled to escape the melee, which appeared to be initiated by the shooting victim, dressed all in black, as he accused the other man, who wore a yellow sweater, of being a 'migrant beating up cops.'
He was seen producing a gun and moving towards the woman seen stabbing him. Panicked passengers began to flee towards the Northbound A train's doors as it pulled into Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets Station in Brooklyn Thursday evening.
Gunshots could be heard ringing out as they fled screaming onto the platform. But it was the gunman himself - the 36-year-old dressed in black - who ended up being shot with his own gun after a struggle, leaving him critically injured.
The NYPD told DailyMail.com on Friday morning the shooting victim, seen in the footage wearing a dark jacket and yellow hat, remains in critical condition, while the gunman, wearing a yellow shirt, is in custody.

The shooting erupted Thursday evening on the A line at Brooklyn's Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station, as chilling footage captured the crazed moments that led up to it.
The two men became embroiled in a wild fight after the shooting suspect appeared to agitate the other man and call him a 'migrant', shouting: 'F**k your kind. F**k your race. F**k you.'
'You think you're gonna beat up cops? I'll beat you up,' the man said, seemingly referencing the January incident in which a group of migrants attacked NYPD officers in Times Square.
Cops were quick to note the shooting victim's role in the incident, saying at a press conference that 'when you bring a gun on the train and start a fight, it is not right. It is outrageous... that's what happened here.'
As the footage of the fight continued, the suspected gunman's 32-year-old female companion then appeared to whip out a knife from her pocket and stab the other man in the back multiple times.
While still fighting the man in yellow, he repeatedly yelled, 'you stabbed me? You stabbed me?'
'I didn't do nothing,' she responded, as blood visibly seeped through the man's shirt. The two then continued grappling, with the 36-year-old man ultimately sitting atop the 32-year-old.
Other passengers were begging the pair to stop as one person said, 'come on, there's babies on here.'
In separate footage from after shots were fired, a train car's full of people were seen cowering in fear and pleading for the subway to pull away from the crime.
'Where's the NYPD, oh my God!' one woman exclaimed as others said, 'close the door, close the door!'

A man wearing a reflective vest managed to separate the two guys, but the 36-year-old rushed the woman and yelled, 'I'm bleeding. You stabbed me, right?'
'I didn't do nothing,' she answered.
At one point, the hooded guy threw down his jacket, revealing the weapon, and proceeded to load it as he charged at the 32-year-old.
Passengers can be heard shouting desperately, 'get me out, get me out,' before the car doors were opened.
At a press conference on Friday, NYPD officials said the shooting victim had skipped his train fare, as they claimed there is a correlation between fare skippers and those bringing knives and guns onto subways.
'Too often, we see people enter the subway system looking to cause harm that skip their fares,' said NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey.
He said no charges have been brought and it would be up to the district attorney to bring any, as he stressed that the investigation is still active.
Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry added that ahead of Saturday's St Patrick's Day Parade, they have not identified any 'credible threats' to the event.
'We encourage people to take the trains tomorrow,' he added.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) chairman Janno Lieber said, 'The victim here, as the chief said, appears to be the aggressor.'
He added, 'But the real victims are the people I saw in those videos, who are having a harrowing time because they're on a train with somebody with a gun.'
