Journalist Megyn Kelly reacted to the verdict on Fani Willis case on Friday, making the case that the judge's decision 'splits the baby' in the case.

State Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ruled that Willis could remain on the election interference case against former president Donald Trump as long as she cuts ties with Nathan Wade, a prosecutor she hired on the case who was also her lover.

'Judge splits the baby,' Kelly wrote on X in reaction to the ruling. 'Obviously Wade will go and Fani will stay. It’s a cowardly decision by the judge but still a major win for this defense team.'

Willis was exposed for hiring Wade despite their romantic relationship, as he billed more than $728,000 in legal fees to county taxpayers and used the money to take exotic vacations with Willis.

Trump's lawyers argued that Willis benefited financially from paying Wade to help prosecute the former president, while enjoying lavish vacations together.

But McAfee ruled that it was not proven that Willis acted for her own financial interests, as she did not appear destitute.

'In summary, the District Attorney did not act in a manner consistent with the theory that she orchestrated a financial scheme to enrich herself (or gain favor with Wade) by prolonging this prosecution or engaging in excessive litigation,' he wrote.

Kelly said she was not convinced that Willis would continue forward with the case against Trump, pointing to a future laden with multiple investigations into her career and background.

'She’s now been publicly humiliated and disgraced. Her ethical & legal probs are only just beginning,' she wrote.

Details of the explosive case went public after lawyer Ashleigh Merchant, a representative for Trump codefendant Michael Roman, issued a court filing alleging improper conduct.

Trump lawyers argued Willis should be disqualified from the case on the grounds that her lover Wade got paid more than $600,000 to serve as a special protector on the case, while engaging in a romantic relationship.
