Kenny Pickett 'traded to Eagles for third-round pick and two future seventh-rounders' after Steelers signed QB Russell Wilson

Kenny Pickett's brief time in Pittsburgh is reportedly over, as the third-year quarterback has been traded from the Steelers to the Eagles.

It looked as though Pickett would be Russell Wilson's backup in Pittsburgh this year after the Steelers signed the former Seahawks and Broncos passer to a one-year, $1.21million deal.

But Pickett will instead sit behind the Eagles' Jalen Hurts, with ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting that Philly is sending this year's No. 98 pick (third round) as well as two 2025 seventh-rounders to land the 25-year-old.

The Steelers are also sending the 120th pick to Philly along with Pickett.

Pittsburgh selected Pickett with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and the quarterback mostly underwhelmed in 24 starts across two seasons.

He totaled just 13 touchdowns against 13 interceptions, with a meager 6.4 yards per attempt last season (27th out of 32 passers).

Pickett was even benched for backup Mason Rudolph towards the end of 2023.

As noted by Schefter, the swap is a homecoming for Pickett, who grew up in New Jersey as an Eagles fan.

Wilson is now the only quarterback on the Steelers' roster.

The Eagles' trade for Pickett comes after they signed Saquon Barkley to a three-year, $37.75million deal.

Philly also added linebacker Devin White and brought back defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
