A makeup artist has revealed how she uses a generic household item to give her lashes an unbelievable curl.
The hack was shared by Samantha Taormina, a beauty content creator based in Las Vegas, on TikTok late last month.
Taormina often takes to social media to share her makeup tips, tricks and even tutorials.
In this video, Taormina shared that she is able to curl her eyelashes by just using a cotton swab, and showed viewers how they can do it themselves.
Makeup artist Samantha Taormina shared with viewers how they can use a Q-Tip to curl their eyelashes
To kick things off, Taormina applied two layers of mascara to both sides of her lashes, using one from Rare Beauty
'What if I told you I curl my lashes with a Q-Tip?' Taormina began the clip. 'Would you believe me?'
To kick things off, she began by applying two coats of mascara from Rare Beauty on 'both sides' of her natural, uncurled lashes.
'Now, if your lashes are not naturally curly, this may not work for you, but I still want you to try it,' the influencer warned before getting into it.
She then took out her Q-Tip, and told viewers to make sure that they were using the cotton swab when their lashes were still wet from the mascara.
'I'm going to take my Q-Tip, and go in right at the base of my lash,' she said, as she moved the center of the swab along her lashes.
'While it's wet, I'm gonna go and roll up my lashes,' she continued. 'What that's gonna do is take off all the excess product off the lashes and also give my lashes a natural curl.'
Then, she took the sharp edge of the cotton swab and repeatedly pressed it against her lashes.
'While those lashes are still wet, I'm bending them in place without being aggressive with a metal lash curler, and I'm taking off the excess mascara,' she said.
While her mascara was still wet, Taormina took the center of the Q-Tip and moved it around her lashes
After that, she took the edge of the Q-Tip and repeatedly pressed it against her lashes, explaining that it was a good alternative for a metal lash curler
Taormina then showed off the comparison between her two lashes - the right lash is the one that she curled with a Q-Tip, while the left remained untouched
After she was finished curling with a Q-Tip, she showed off how it looked in comparison to her untouched lash.
The difference was very noticeable - her right eyelashes appearing curled and lifted, while left was still straight.
'Look at the difference in my lashes, all with a Q-tip,' the beauty expert raved.
'That's my secret weapon.'
In the comments section of her TikTok, many users seemed quite impressed by the unusual hack, while others promised they would try it out for themselves.
'I will have to try it! I ripped my lashes out as a teenager and I've never touched an eyelash curler since!!' one person wrote.
Another agreed, 'I MUST TRY! Mine are somewhat straight but worth a try!'
'I ALWAYS have done this or just with my finger.
'My lashes are very long and curled so I've never needed a lash curler,' someone else chimed in.
'Looks amazing, what a difference. I hate eyelash curlers. Trying this tomorrow!' one user typed.
'Look at the difference in my lashes, all with a Q-tip,' the beauty expert raved. 'That's my secret weapon'
In the comments section of her video, many TikTok users seemed mind-blown by the hack
However, Taormina isn't the only one with a mascara trick up her sleeve.
In 2019, New York-based Australian Kelly McCarren - a PR and Content Manager at online clothing boutique, Showpo - took to YouTube to share some of her makeup hacks.
One of her tips included a way to help remove mascara from your face if you've accidentally gotten a clump on top of your eyelid or onto your cheek.
McCarren suggested waiting 10 minutes for the mascara to dry, and then going in with an old spoolie to simply flick the mascara off your skin.
