Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are at a 'standstill' in their marriage because they refuse to address the Morgan Wade romance rumors over fears the 'difficult conversations' could destroy their relationship, according to insiders.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars announced they were separating in July after 27 years of marriage, but they have yet to make any progress on whether they will divorce or reconcile.
Mauricio, 53, is reportedly scared to address his wife's close friendship with Morgan, 29, while Kyle, 55, is said to be fearful of asking her estranged husband how he feels about dating other women.
'Mauricio and Kyle are at a weird standstill with each other,' a source told DailyMail.com.

'They both feel that if they have these difficult conversations, it will lead them to a definitive place of never getting back to a friendship, let alone a marriage – but that is exactly what they should do to repair their relationship.
'They have to change how they approach each other and their concerns.
'If they can get to that place, and talk together about what Morgan is to Kyle or if Mauricio is looking to fall in love with someone else - and not through cameras for their reality shows - they will get the answers they want and need.
'No one wants to be the first one to make that step which is why they are where they are now, separated and most likely forever.'
The source continued: 'Will that happen? It doesn't look like it, but if they can be convinced or convince themselves to go down that path, it will benefit their entire family. Reason needs to outweigh emotion.'
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Kyle and Mauricio for comment.
The estranged couple, who tied the knot in 1996, have daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 16.
Kyle is also mother to daughter Farrah, 35, who she has with ex, Guraish Aldjufrie.

The source adds that Kyle, 55, is also fearful of asking her estranged husband, 53, how he feels about dating other women
Earlier this month, the actress and socialite admitted that she had been 'curious' to kiss a woman in a teaser for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills finale – and spoke out on dating rumors surrounding herself and Morgan.
She also got tearful when addressing the cheating rumors about her estranged husband.
During the reunion, the reality star said that it was 'nobody's f***ing business' as to the reasoning behind the separation.
She brought up a comment made in the season 13 finale, where the star previously said that, 'there were things that happened that made [her] lose [her] trust.'
Getting emotional, Kyle told host Andy Cohen: 'With any marriage there's issues that you have, and they come up, and then something like I said in my interview happened where I did lose my trust.'
On top of their split, Mauricio and Kyle have also been dealing with family drama.

Earlier this week, Paris Hilton blasted her uncle Mauricio for publicly discussing a family feud that erupted years ago because of business.
On his new Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio recalled how he left Paris's father's company, Hilton & Hyland, in 2011 to launch a rival agency which triggered an explosive rift between Kyle and her family who stopped speaking to her.
Paris furiously denounced Mauricio for 'using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show.'
'My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road,' she wrote on Instagram.
'He would never speak negatively about his family -- especially in the press. Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already.'
An insider close to Mauricio has since insisted to DailyMail.com that he was not trying to upset Kyle with his comments about her family's business.

Taking to social media, she denounced Mauricio for 'using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show'
'Mauricio hates that Kyle's friends and family are against him for anything that he does,' they added.
'He is not trying to upset Kyle, but her friends are riling her up and making it look like everything he says or does is against her, which is so far from the truth.
'He is just being himself and Kyle has been made to believe that he isn't to be trusted.
'He would love for Kyle to be on his side throughout. Her army of friends and family want nothing to do with him. To bust through those walls is looking to be an impossible feat.'
The property mogul addressed Paris' comments in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight in which he said he split from the Hilton's because he wanted to 'take care' of his family.
'Look, it’s sad that she got so upset about that, but at the end of the day, it’s two businessmen making two business decisions,' he told the publication.
'I felt like I deserved something. I asked for something, he didn’t want to do it, and then I chose to go off on my own.
'I wanted to take care of my family, I wanted to be successful, I wanted to go forward, I wanted to do the most I could, and at the end of the day, I made that decision just to go forward with this thing. There is certainly no bad blood on my side.'
