A sixth-grade girl was brutally attacked by another student at a California middle school, with the horrific assault all being caught on cellphone video.
The attack, which is said to have started during a dispute over a boy, happened just before 3pm last Thursday in Riverside County at Arizona Middle School.
The onslaught saw the victim being ambushed by a classmate by pulling her hair then viciously punching in the face. The beating appeared to continue for almost two minutes before anyone intervened.
Fellow pupils at the school either stood around and watched or took out their phones to film what was unfolding before them as the girl was beat.

The distressing videos obtained by KTLA sees the moments just before the attack began, with the assailant apparently goaded by a friend.
'I'm scared, my heart is beating,' the girl could be heard saying in the video.
'Just fight her. She's not going to do s**t', an antagonist can be heard saying.
'Should I just start pulling her hair?' the girl asks.
The victim's mother, known as Jazmin, revealed how the confrontation stemmed from an argument over a boy and escalated suddenly into physical violence, leaving her daughter bruised and traumatized.
Despite the severity of the incident, no school staff intervened during the assault, which has only served to increase the distress felt by the victim.
'Nobody came to help my daughter; no student came to stop this at all. So, she was left alone,' Jazmin told the station.

The assailant has now been expelled as a result of her violent actions
'I couldn't even watch the full video. It was really hard. I just thank God that my daughter's alive.'
By the time Jazmin arrived at the school to speak with her daughter, who was visibly shaken and in tears, she found her suffering from a swollen face with some of her hair having been pulled out.
'At that point, I just held her, and I hugged her. I've seen multiple things on social media of when kids are brutally attacked, and they're killed,' Jazmin said.
The girl was taken to hospital where a police report was filed.
When her mother sought answers from school officials over her daughter's safety, she was given only vague assurances.

'They're just telling me you can bring your daughter back tomorrow and I can assure you that your daughter's going to be fine,' Jazmin said.
School authorities say they have disciplined the perpetrator, who may face criminal charges pending the outcome of an investigation, but Jazmin remains unhappy with the school's response.
'I want to see justice. I want to justice to be served for my daughter because I feel like it's another fight and they're brushing everything under the rug', she said.
She has now withdrawn her daughter from Arizona Middle School.
The assailant is also no longer enrolled at the school having been expelled as result of her violent outburst.

The family added they want 'justice through the legal system' - but pleaded with other teenagers not to retaliate against the girl who attacked Kaylee.
They confirmed Kaylee suffered 'a fractured skull that resulted in brain bleeding and swelling' and she still has not regained consciousness 10 days later.
