Italy's first robot dog, Seatta alongside a sniffer pooch Olimpia were sent into the building by the Italian Carabinieri to ensure there were no explosives on the site.
Following an anonymous phone call from a man 'with an Italian voice', 400 people were evacuated from the building near Via del Corso.
The bomb threat and subsequent evacuation happened during a meeting between the Italian dance sector and ministry officials, Wanted In Rome reports.
The undersecretary minister of culture, Gianmarco Mazzi, who was acting on behalf of absent Gennaro Sangiuliano, explained they were expecting the arrival of celebrities momentarily before the threat.

'We hope to be able to resume work as soon as possible.'
Italian Minister of Culture Gennaro Sanguiliano instructed the chief of staff and head of the secretariat to contact authorities immediately after the call was received by the doormen.
He told Il Messaggero: 'I cannot say what they are doing - there are protocols. But our law enforcement are the best in the world.'
After staff were evacuated from the Ministry of Culture, bomb squads along side the robot-dog duo - Seatta and Olimpia - arrived on the scene.
The canine team investigated the premises and ensured there were no devices in the building, according to Ansa.

Seatta is the first device of its kind in Italy and can be controlled from a distance of 150 meters.
The robot can travel through arduous terrain and can reach areas vehicles with wheels cannot - and will be used for high-risk missions.
It also has the ability to open doors, climb up and down stairs, and even remove blockages from its path.
The advanced machine can also map locations by utilizing its thermal imaging sensors and its laser, meaning it can spot chemicals, potential explosives, and threats.
