Shakira brands her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique 'Voldemort' in latest swipe at former Barcelona star... as pop star returns to work after putting 'career on hold'

Shakira has likened her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique to Harry Potter villain 'Voldemort' in her latest swipe at the former Barcelona star. 

The pair announced their separation June 2022.

During their relationship, Shakira and Pique, who is now dating Clara Chia Marti, had two children together.

The Colombian singer, 45, is now returning to work, having put her ‘career on hold’ for her footballer ex.

Her upcoming album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, will feature a ‘diss track’ towards her 37-year-old ex-partner.

Shakira has branded Pique 'Voldemort' in her latest swipe at the former Barcelona star

‘Voldemort, that one that shouldn’t be mentioned?’ she said when asked about the connection. ‘It’s hopefully the last song that I will write about this, and to him.’

She added: ‘I felt that there was still something there, stuck in my throat, and I needed to get it out. I played it to the marketing head at Sony and he started crying. I’d never seen a man cry in my studio before.

Shakira got candid about everything she gave up during the 12 years she was in a relationship to Piqué.

'For a long time I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football,' Shakira admitted during an interview with The Sunday Times. 

The Hips Don't Lie singer continued: 'There was a lot of sacrifice for love.'

Previously, the Colombian bombshell, who shares sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine, with her former partner, elaborated on the sacrifices she was willing to make for her  children and Piqué.
