Collins took a sip of the drink to see if there was indeed alcohol, but couldn't tell as she was not a drinker herself.
'We don't drink, so we couldn't tell whether there was alcohol in it or not,' Collins told the outlet.
'After that, he started letting us know that his heart was kind of racing.'
She flagged down the server, who then voiced their concerns to the bartender. he bartender admitted he had accidentally made the slushy drink with alcohol.
'It was supposed to be a virgin daiquiri, but it says a daiquiri,' Collins told Fox 2, with the receipt in hand.
The restaurant staff apologized to the customers and comped their meal.
The sixth-grader was taken to the hospital where doctors could do little other than give him Tylenol and told him to sleep it off. He had a hangover the next day.
'Diagnosis was accidental exposure to alcohol and accidental ingestion,' Collins said. 'I didn't want him to have to have an alcoholic experience this way.'
