Subway has decided that it's time for a change, much to the annoyance of Reddit users.

The restaurant franchise announced yesterday that they have entered a 10-year agreement with PepsiCo.

All U.S. Subway locations will be offering drinks like Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Lipton, as per the agreement starting in January 2025.

This agreement also means that Subway customers will be saying goodbye to the option of ordering a Coca-Cola at the restaurant.

'That's the final straw tbh,' a Reddit user wrote, to which another person responded:  'This'll be a major disincentive to go to Subway.'

Coca-Cola Company has been the primary drink provider for Subway since 2005.

Before Coco-Cola, PepsiCo was the main drink provider for all Subway locations and had been since 1988.

President of Subway North America Doug Fry is over the moon about the new agreement.

'The partnership with PepsiCo is an exciting milestone in our journey to become America's favorite place to eat, drink and work,' he said in the press release.

'It is a win-win for everyone, as it brings a delicious suite of beverage and snack choices to our guests, driving additional consideration of these menu items, while also providing cost-effective, streamlined solutions to our franchisees.'

Although this new deal is angering Reddit users, it's old news for some other regions.

Subway noted that PepsiCo is already their current beverage provider in places like Canada, German, Norway and the Netherlands.

Domino's in Australia received a lot of hate after they made the decision to swap Coke for Pepsi in 2017.

A Facebook status about the issue made by Liam Wilson went viral quickly after the change.

'The fact that you've changed your drink selection from coke to pepsi not only disappoints me but sickens me,' he wrote.

'Whoever the peanut was that decided that this was a good choice should be fired immediately.'

The change at Subway also comes years after JetBlue angered their fliers by switching from Coke to Pepsi back in 2019.

The airline received a lot of hate from social media users shortly after the change was made, but they continue to serve Pepsi to this day.

Reddit users have had a wide variety of opinions on the deal, either siding with Pepsi or Coco-Cola.

One Reddit user even brought up Subway's previous partnership with Pepsi.

'Hopefully adding Wild Cherry Pepsi instead of Cherry Coke,' wrote a Reddit user that appears to be okay with the change.

Others have dissed Subway in their comments and have written that this drink is 'another reason not to go to Subway.'

'Sounds like a desperate move by a company in financial trouble,' a user wrote.
