A homeowners association (HOA) meeting in New Jersey went off the rails after the community gathered to protest the prospect of bringing on a new, third-party management company against the wishes of many residents.
A nearly three-minute clip of the meeting resurfaced on TikTok after being shared by account @volumeupvids, while a video of the entire meeting, which took place in 2020, can be found on YouTube.
The gathering took place at community center The Windmill Club at 1 Eagle Drive in the New Jersey locale of Howell Township.
The speaker leading the meeting was addressing the community in regard to a potential change in management - with attendees loudly voicing concern about the possibility of fee hikes in the future.
A homeowners association meeting in the New Jersey locale of Howell Township went off the rails as it appeared the board wanted to push through a motion against the wishes of residents
The crowd in attendance was furious that an 'interim' board member who hadn't been voted in would be voting to approve a takeover from a new management company
The crowd grew angrier as it realized a new 'interim' board member named Frank, who wore a black mask, hadn't been voted in, but instead had been 'appointed' by the other board members.
Making matters worse, he was voting to approve the new management company, allying with the woman speaking.
Moments later, the speaker declared that it was time to vote - and was quickly met with an outcry from the attendees.
'What are we voting for?' one man screamed.
'You gave us no information! We have zero information! What are you freaking voting on?' another person bellowed as she stood up from her lawn chair.
'We have no information on the company you want to hire. We have no information to compare apples to apples! Now you're voting on what?!' she went on.
'Are we all crazy here?'
A second man accusatorily shouted out at the board, 'How long have you lived here?'
In trying to make her voice heard above the fray, the speaker at one point seemingly tried out the microphone of a 'children's karaoke machine' sitting in the grass nearby - without success.
Despite vocal protests from the crowd, the board tried to go ahead and hold a vote on whether the Red Bank, New Jersey-based management company PRC Group would get dominion over the local HOA.
Yet another uproar from the crowd came about as the speaker pointed toward a nearby lake and declared, 'This lake is going to have a major project done to it,' going on to explain that the Environmental Protection Agency had stepped in and without the project the insurance rate 'on the lake' would go up.
'No! No! No!' one man could be heard yelling.

After nearly 45 minutes, the woman declared the meeting was 'concluded' without time for questions as she'd previously told the attendees.
In a pinned comment, the original poster of the YouTube footage of the whole meeting shared an update.
'The man sitting next to the woman speaking was defeated in an election,' they wrote of the unelected board member.
'The woman speaking resigned her position because she didn’t have a majority of votes anymore.
'No one forced her off, but she's so full of herself and entitled that when she saw she wasn't going to be able to run the HOA how she wanted with no opposition on the board and give away management contracts to whoever she wants instead of the woman who's had the job for years (literally my entire life) and worked hard at it, she resigned.
'She then sold her house and is moving somewhere else, and so did the man beside her who was voted out in election.
'He was defeated in the election by 101 to 5.'
On the PRC Group's website four years later, there is no mention of management properties owned in Howell Township - so it seems that the town's people indeed had their say at the the ballot box.
People on TikTok were left in uproar over the chaotic clip
Despite the video originally being brought to light, its resurfacing on social media has prompted hundreds of people to express their shock and delight at its contents, with several taking to the comments section on Reddit, TikTok, and YouTube to voice their opinions on the chaotic clip.
'Why am I watching this? I’m not part of an HOA and never will be, but I can’t stop viewing this train wreck,' one person commented on YouTube.
'This is the smallest amount of authority I have ever seen someone mismanage,' another chimed in.
'I worked for a property management company for many years,' one person added. 'This was such a joy to watch. It brought back all the old memories if sitting at those ridiculous meetings and laughing my a** off at all the entitled idiots and their little fantasy kingdoms they ruled over.'
Meanwhile one took aim at the 'lady running the meeting', describing her as a 'buffoon'.
'The lady running the meeting is a disaster of a public speaker, her disdain is clear,' they commented. 'Plus she’s trying to use “big” words she doesn’t understand which makes her look like a buffoon.'
One TikTok user joked: ''It's giving SNL skit!'
