President Joe Biden's campaign cash advantage over former President Donald Trump swelled to $113 million as the ex-president is bogged down by legal costs heading into the general election rematch.
Biden's campaign had $71 million cash on hand at the end of February according to Federal Election Commission filings Wednesday night. It brought in more than $21 million and spent just over $6 million across the month.
Over the weekend, the president's campaign announced including the committees supporting him, Biden raised a whopping $53 million in February and had an unprecedented $155 million cash on hand at the end of the month.
Biden's massive cash advantage has given the president the ability to make an early digital advertising investment as well as book ads for the fall in what is expected to be the most expensive political race ever.
Meanwhile, the Trump campaign told Fox News the former president and his joint fundraising committee raised a combined $20 million last month surpassing the $13.8 million raised in January but less than half of Biden's February fundraising total.
At the end of last month, Trump had a combined $41.9 million cash on hand they said, less than a third of Biden's gigantic campaign war chest.

The Trump campaign's monthly filing late Wednesday showed the ex-president's campaign brought in $10.8 million in February and spent $7.8 million.
It finished the month with $33.5 million cash on hand, an uptick from the $30 million the campaign had on hand at the end of January.
The super PAC supporting Trump, Make America Great Again Inc., reported having $25.5 million cash on hand at the end of February. It raised nearly $12.8 million last month and spent nearly $7 million.
But one of Trump's committees, a leadership PAC called Save America which has been used to help pay for his legal expenses as Trump fights multiple cases, spent more money than it took in last month.
Save America finished February with $4 million cash on hand, down from more than $6.2 million at the end of January. It spent more than $6.6 million last month but brought in only $5 million.

According to the filing, the committee spent nearly $5.6 million on legal consulting and still owed Alina Habba's law firm $534,361.
That amounts to the committee spending more than $210,000 on legal costs a day in February.
Habba is the lawyer working on the Trump New York fraud case as the former president struggles to secure the $454 million fine, raising questions over whether the New York attorney general would seize assets.
The ex-president has been fundraising off the fraud case to help foot his ballooning legal costs.
One fundraising email to supporters in February had the subject line 'Keep your filthy hands ff Trump Tower!' It linked to a memo that said AG Letitia James wants to seize Trump properties.
It stated 'Democrats think they can intimidate me. They think they can force me to quit. BUT I WILL NEVER SURRENDER!'
Last year, Trump's campaign and committees also spent nearly $50 million combined on legal fees as the former president fights 88 charges in four criminal cases and as well as two separate civil cases.

With the general election looming both Biden and Trump are focused on the fundraising push.
Billionaire John Paulson will host a fundraiser for Trump early next month in Palm Beach with tickets cost as much as $814,600 for a seat at the former president's table.
Biden will join former presidents Obama and Clinton for a fundraising event at Radio City Music Hall next week in New York City. The first-of-its-kind event is reportedly expected to bring in $10 million.
The president this week was on a swing through three states where he also attended several fundraisers including one in Dallas Wednesday night where the host said they raised $2.5 million.
The latest election filings for February do not include the Biden campaign's largest fundraising day to date.
In the 24 hours following Biden's fiery State of the Union address on March 8, the campaign reported he brought in $10 million in donations, it's best fundraising day of the cycle so far.

With Biden's $113 million cash advantage, he has been able to greatly outspend Trump on digital advertising targeting voters in battleground states ahead of the general election.
According to an analysis by Newsweek, Biden's campaign spent $5.6 million on ads with Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram over 90 days. During that same period, Trump's campaign spent just under $850,000.
The Biden advertising advantage grew even larger with Google, which owns YouTube. There, Biden spent $3.71 million on digital ads since last August. In the last 90 days, the campaign ran 818 ads with Google, the analysis found.
Trump's campaign during that same period spent $1,400 on four Google ads.
