A luxury interior designer has revealed the five paint colours that will make your home look more expensive.

Charlotte Surand, from Miami, said the sophisticated hues will infuse any room with European luxury and elegance. 

She said 'smoked green', 'opulent ivory', 'regal burgundy', 'noble navy' and 'midnight slate' are the perfect choices to elevate any room's design. 

Charlotte has been an international interior designer for nine years after growing up in France and relocating to the US where she works with high-end clients like the Ritz Carlton. 

'Smoked green' is a dusty dark shade of emerald that brings a moody sophistication to any space.

The designer shared the 'expensive' colours on her popular Instagram where fans were obsessing over the 'stunning' shades.   

'These colours are to die for,' one woman said and another wrote: 'Wow love all of these looks'. 

'I did my bedroom slate grey, ceiling too! GORGEOUS! Drapes and bedding are white, looks so refined,' a third added. 

'Omg, love love love!!' someone exclaimed.
