Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks and Chicago Bulls veteran DeMar DeRozan were both ejected Thursday night after getting into an on-court scuffle.
The ejections took place in the third quarter after DeRozan committed a hard foul on Jalen Green.
Brooks, who has built a reputation similar to Warriors' star Draymond Green as an agitator, took exception with the foul on Green and got in DeRozan's face.
The two got tangled up with several others and jawed at each other before being separated.
The group holding Brooks back, with a few from the Bulls also in the mass confrontation, eventually fell to the ground before cooler heads prevailed.
Brooks and DeRozan spent several seconds tangled before both men were ejected
Brooks' reputation as an agitator precedes him from his days in Memphis and showed up again
Brooks' Houston teammate, Jock Landale, spoke out after the Rockets' win over the Bulls about how things need to change.
'Dillon Brooks, if you're listening, this ain't Memphis, man,' Landale said. 'Stop getting yourself ejected. We need you out here. We need that physicality.'
Before being acquired by the Rockets last year, Brooks spent six seasons with the Grizzlies, with the end of his tenure in Memphis riddled with ejections and suspensions.
Brooks getting attention as a dirty player did not start until the 2022 postseason, where he knocked Gary Payton II out of the air with a foul.
The Rockets are currently 2.5 games back of the Warriors for the final spot in the Play-In Tournament.
