A mother left a chocolate shop with a smile on her face thanks to a server's unconditional kindness.
The woman created a Reddit post yesterday and told her story of what happened when she and her three-year-old son went to buy some hot chocolate.
She and her son had just left a doctors appointment in which the physician referred them to a speech language therapist.
'I was having a really bad day with my 3yo son who has autism. We were going for a walk and he was cold so I said we would go get a hot chocolate,' she wrote.
The pair walked into 'a small little shop' and ordered two small hot chocolates.

The two of them met their server, and he tried to communicate with the three-year-old.
'The man said hello to my son who is non verbal and didn't reply,' she wrote.
'He again was like hey little man! And my son turned his head. I looked at him and said sorry he's non verbal he doesn't talk.'
Once her son wanted to get out of his stroller, things became more difficult for the mom to handle.
'There [were] no tables inside so I couldn't take him out. I could feel eyes on me from other customers and saw a woman whispering to her friend and the two of them staring at me,' she wrote.
Her son quickly changed his demeanor after the server gave him a special treat.

The server walked over to them from behind the counter and handed the little boy 'a cup of mini marshmallows.'
The little boy quickly calmed down and the server told the original poster (OP) that she looked like she was 'having a rough time of it.'
'He handed me a large hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, and when I said I only asked for a small he said it was on the house,' she wrote.
'I tried to pay him anyway, and he said no seriously it's OK. Enjoy your hot chocolate.'

The server spotted the mom crying outside and even offered her tissues and a table that had cleared up.
'I declined but thanked him for being so nice, and he said you never know what a person is going through so always be kind,' she wrote.
The OP revealed in a comment that she did not remember the name of the chocolate shop, but that she might go back to it sometime.
Since she posted her heartwarming story, other Reddit users have left positive comments and stories about their experiences with servers or autistic children.
Reddit users left positive comments for the mom, and some of them wrote down their own heartwarming stories about encounters with servers
'When my husband and I were homeless, there was a Starbucks barista who would always look out for us whenever we came in to eat or drink something,' a Reddit user commented.
'People like that have really restored my faith in humanity.'
Other users have given their well wishes to the mother, and one person wrote in their comment that 'everything will be okay.'
'I would love to leave a good review or ANYTHING to reward this business for doing something we've all needed at one point or another,' one user responded to the post.
'Be the kindness you want to see in the world- even if it never changes.'
