Auburn's Chad Baker-Mazara has blasted officials midway through Friday's shock loss to Yale, tweeting from the team's locker room 'yall lame' after his ejection and before the Bulldogs' shock 78-76 upset.

The 24-year-old forward was given a flagrant 2 foul just three minutes into the first-round matchup after he elbowed Yale's August Mahomes in the face, resulting in an automatic ejection.

After being given his marching order, Baker-Mazara shared in a since-deleted post on X from somewhere inside the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Washington, presumably the team's locker room: 'Lmao yall lame,' adding three laughing emojis at the end.

He then followed up with another tweet a few minutes later, writing: 'I believe in my boys they got em!!'

Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl voiced his unhappiness at the referees' decision on Chad-Baker's early foul in an on-court interview during the first half. He said: 'What he did was wrong... I thought it should've been a flagrant 1.'

Pearl then further pointed out: 'To remove him from the game after an entire season of work is something that, obviously it's gonna disrupt us. He's one of our very best players.

'And it was a retaliation. It was because he got hit in the throat on a play before. He shouldn't have retaliated.'

Mahoney ended up scoring 14 points after taking Baker-Mazara's elbow to the face. Danny Wolf had 13 for the Bulldogs (23-9), who overcame a 10-point, second-half deficit to improve to 2-7 all-time in NCAA Tournament play. .

Johni Broome recorded 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Tigers (27-8). Denver Jones added 17 points and Jaylin Williams had 13 for Auburn.

Upstart Yale will face No. 5 seed San Diego State in Sunday's second round.
