Miami International Airport has been forced to close after Florida was hit by torrential thunderstorms on Saturday.
The Federal Aviation Agency issued the full ground stop on Saturday morning and will remain in place until at least 4:59 pm.
It comes as Miami is held under a flood warning and the risk of an 'isolated tornado,' NBC reports.
'Inclement weather may impact operations on March 23,' the airport wrote on X.
'If you're traveling, please get in touch with your airline for the latest flight updates.'

Another round of heavy rain and stormy condition moved into South Florida on Friday night and into Saturday morning.
Some areas of Miami received two inches of rainfall and West Palm Beach received more than five.

The city remains under a flood watch with further heavy rain expected around midday and into the afternoon, according to NBC.
The coastal city continues to be battered by strong winds of up to 35mph as the cold front moves across the area.
A wind advisory will remain in effect until 8pm on Saturday.
Temperatures remain high, at around 79 degrees, despite the rain and overcast skies.
