Christy Carlson Romano has revealed how she ditched Hollywood in favor of Texas in the hopes of giving her children a 'slower paced' lifestyle.
The Even Stevens star, 40, and husband Brendan Rooney relocated to Austin, Texas, in 2020, with the former Disney Channel actress now opening up about why moving was one of the best decisions for her family.
The mom-of-two - who previously campaigned for child actors to have better working conditions - currently runs two podcasts and a podcast company with her hubby while also caring for daughters Isabella, seven, and Sofia, five.
Now, Christy has lifted the lid on why her move out of the Hollywood Hills felt 'just right' because Texas is much 'slower' than California.

Christy sat down with People to discuss how she found happiness after settling down in Austin.
She revealed that the move in 2020 felt 'just right' before confessing that she 'loves' that her children are out of Hollywood.
'I love that the girls can kind of be out of the Hollywood area,' she told the outlet.
And while the actress - who also voiced Kim Possible - enjoyed her time in California, she revealed that she's happy to have settled down in Texas.
'I love California, we have our PodCo offices there. And I also truly feel at home in Austin. I have a really strong community of friends there, and I've really found a way to set down roots,' she added.
The actress noted that she loves that Austin is 'slower' than California and noted that it has everything she could need.
'I'm really happy that we live there,' she said.
Meanwhile, Christy revealed that her two daughters have gotten used to fans approaching her and often thinks that they are her friends.

'My fans, especially since I started doing YouTube and podcasts, are so supportive and loving to me.
'And so my girls, I don't think they're freaked out about it because it just kind of feels to them that I am talking to someone I know,' the former Disney star said.
Christy also spoke about how the next generation of moms have a number of growing fears ahead of them.
She noted that parenthood is 'scary' and comes with 'loaded' questions.
Christy added: 'How am I going to be a parent? How am I going to afford that? Am I going to have more than one, if one at all?
'I have multiple children and I work, and so I want to always make sure that they have a very balanced life.'
