Tom Cruise was spotted running through the National History Museum in London on Monday night as he filmed Mission Impossible 8.

The Hollywood A-lister,61, is currently shooting the latest instalment of his blockbuster franchise and arrived at the major tourist spot in the British capital to get more footage in the can.

Tom rushed through the doors of the museum and up and down the stairs as he returned to his long-running role as Ethan Slater, a highly skilled field agent and operative for the Impossible Mission Force.

The acclaimed star was also seen alongside his co-stars Vanessa Kirby and Esai Morales, as the trio filmed some dramatic scenes.

The Crown actress stars as Alanna Mitsopolis in the film and looked shocked at one point whilst wrapped up in a long black coat.

At one point, Vanessa was seen with a piece of headgear on and her character looked to be trying to gain entry in the building.

Just moments before Tom and Vanessa were spotted, Esai Morales was seen shooting his role as antagnoist Gabriel.

The Bad Boys star donned a smart suit for the scenes he was working on and looked to be angrily pointing towards a co-star.

Mission Impossible 8 is currently unnamed but will most likely be called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, as it is a direct sequel to Part One that was released in 2023.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One underperformed at the box office compared to the previous films in the franchise, despite Tom's attempts to extend its run.

The actor was concerned about Oppenheimer overshadowing the film, as it required the same limited screens.

He was proved right as Oppenheimer achieved almost $400 million more than Mission: Impossible at box office.

The Mission: Impossible film series, beginning in 1996, is based on a 1966 television series of the same name.

Last week Tom embodied his secret agent alter ego and flew his Mission: Impossible cast and crew to Longcross Studios during the M25 closure, to continue making progress on filming.

Last week, a five-mile stretch of the motorway was shut in both directions in a planned closure near Surrey, while a bridge was demolished and a new gantry installed in a £317million upgrade project.

Filming for Mission: Impossible was taking place near the stretch of road between junctions 10 and 11 that shut at 9pm on the Friday night and remained closed until Monday.

To get around the delay, Tom reportedly used a helipad in Battersea to fly the cast and crew of Mission: Impossible 8 to Surrey's Longcross Studios.
