Republicans trying to 'stop the invasion' of migrants at the southern border unveil measure that would halt the Biden administration's use of the CBP One app that enabled over 320,000 migrants to fly into the U.S.

Republicans fighting with the White House over immigration are trying to stop the Biden administration from allowing migrants to board flights into the U.S. without proper identification.

The CBP One app, run by Customs and Border Protection, was originally designed to reduce wait times for perishable commercial goods meant for trade passing through legal U.S. ports of entry.

But at the start of 2023, Biden's administration expanded the use of the CBP One app to enable migrants to use it for asylum applications.

Now, migrants can use their CBP One app to serve as identification before boarding flights to or within the U.S.

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah introduced a measure called the Verifying that all Aliens have Legitimate Identification Documents (VALID) Act, which would bar the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and airlines from accepting CBP One as a form of ID.

'It is a disgrace that American citizens are held to a higher standard of vetting when traveling around their own country than illegal aliens,' Lee exclusively told DailyMail.com in a statement.

'My legislation would forbid the TSA from accepting a government app as ID for illegals boarding flights, which has been used by the Biden administration to shuttle violent criminals to every corner of our nation.'

The legislation is cosponsored by Sens. Rick Scott, R-Fla., Roger Marshall, R-Kan., Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Mike Braun, R-Ind., and John Thune, R-S.D.

CBP One allows migrants to self-disclose personal information which is then processed by federal authorities before they are able to board the flights.

Those eligible for the CBP One applications are citizens from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia and Ecuador.

According to CBP, over 45,000 migrants used the CBP One app in January to enter the U.S.

And a previous DailyMail.com report earlier this month revealed the CBP One app has been central to a Biden administration program that has flown over 320,000 migrants from foreign countries to the U.S

House Homeland Security Chair Mark Green, R-Tenn., sent a letter last week to TSA chief David Pekoske requesting he turn over documents and communications related to the agency's migrant identification standards, according to a letter obtained by DailyMail.com.

Roughly 96 percent of migrants who scheduled an appointment through CBP One from January 12, 2023 to September 30, 2023 were released, according to the letter, comprising a total of 267,000 individuals released into the U.S.

'There is no logical reason American citizens and other legitimate travelers should go through more thorough screening than inadmissible aliens,' Green told DailyMail.com last week.

'As threats from our adversaries grow more complex, this is not the time to make it easier for them to take advantage of us,' Green continued.

'This troubling TSA policy is just one more example of the Biden administration's utter refusal to take the homeland security mission seriously.'
