The news about the chatbot being unleashed on iPhones has seen backlash among Apple users who have threatened to walk away from the tech giant because a 'woke iPhone is coming up.'
Apple has announced dates for its annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), where it is likely to unveil updates that power the iPhone and other devices
Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said: ‘We’re so excited to connect with developers from around the world for an extraordinary week of technology and community at WWDC24.
‘WWDC is all about sharing new ideas and providing our amazing developers with innovative tools and resources to help them make something even more wonderful.’
The event will be held at Apple Park, the tech giant’s headquarters and second campus building in Cupertino.
The massive ringed-shaped building was one of the final products pitched by the late CEO, Steve Jobs.
WWDC will kick things off with a keynote speech that usually unveils the new operating system for the iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch and TV.
And owners of the newly released Vision Pro might also get an update.
WWDC is an annual event that's been held by Apple since 1983, although it was not originally intended for hardware announcements.

It has only in the past 20 years that Apple has been using the conference as a major launchpad for new devices, including the HomePod speaker in 2007 and the iPhone 4 in 2010.
Arguably, the main event in the calendar for Apple fans is its event held in the first two weeks of September, when it announces its new iPhone – although this year WWDC could be bigger.
AI is set to take centerstage at WWDC, as Apple has long promised to add the tech to its devices - but has seemed to fail at developing its own version.
Bloomberg reported this month about the potential partnership, which would add more AI-powered features to Apple’s devices.
However, Gemini is shrouded in controversy after the image generator churned out historically inaccurate pictures including Black Nazi soldiers and a female pope.
The chatbot version has also been found riddled with bias - saying ‘some women have penises’ and ‘not all pedophiles are evil.’
The deal has some iPhone owners threatening to walk away from Apple if it goes through, and others believe it is simply 'embarrassing' the smartphone maker had to turn to Google as its AI provider.
The negotiations in question involve Apple licensing Gemini for some new features coming to the iPhone software this year, the report said, adding that the terms or branding of an AI agreement or how it would be implemented have not been decided.
But the world will have to wait until June to know if Apple and Google are joining forces.
