Louis Rees-Zammit was given a warm welcome from Kansas City Chiefs fans on Tuesday night after news broke that the former Wales rugby player was set to join the Super Bowl winners.
The 23-year-old Welshman quit rugby in January to pursue a career in the NFL and is now set to sign with Andy Reid's Kansas City after impressing scouts while a part of the International Player Pathway (IPP).
Chiefs fans quickly researched their impending new addition and took to social media in excitement with what they found. One fan even suggested Rees-Zammit's rugby background will mean Travis Kelce throws more laterals next season.
Kelce threw a lateral to Kadarius Toney, who ran 24 yards into the end zone and appeared to give the Chiefs an incredible late victory over the Buffalo Bills on December 10 at Arrowhead Stadium, only for it to be correctly nullified when it emerged Toney lined up offside.
But with Rees-Zammit - who aims to one day play in the wide receiver role like Toney - alongside him, fans think Kelce may be inclined to try the play again in the future.

'Kelce gonna get better at laterals,' wrote 'UpperHandChiefs' on Instagram.
Another shared a video of Will Ferrell stroking his chin with the caption: 'Travis Kelce watching Zammit catch laterals.'
Other Chiefs fans shared highlights of Rees-Zammit's rugby career to get excited, with one sharing his stunning 80 meter try against Italy in 2021.
'Louis Rees-Zammit in action,' wrote the Chiefs Instagram fan page 'Chiefs Talk' with a wide-eye and fire emoji.
Another Chiefs fan was predicting that head coach Andy Reid will design some breathtaking plays with the 23-year-old at his disposal.
'Andy Reid is going to come up with a DIABOLICAL play call after signing rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit.'
A different fan said: 'Louis Rees-Zammit about to make a Super Bowl before a World Cup final.'
If the final details are confirmed for Rees-Zammit, he will compete for a role in a Chiefs team bidding for an unprecedented 'three-peat' alongside the likes of Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
They won the last Super Bowl last month against the San Francisco 49ers and beat the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.
