Chiefs coach Andy Reid whipped up the Kansas City Royals crowd into a frenzy for the opening day of the baseball season by bringing the Lombardi trophy to throw first pitch.
Reid, nicknamed 'Big Red', walked out to the mound with the silverware in one hand and a baseball in the other as the Royals began their season against Minnesota Twins at Kauffman Stadium.
The 66-year-old Reid even swapped his trademark Chiefs red jacket for a blue Royals polo shirt for the game.
He handed the Lombardi Trophy to Clarke Hunt, owner of the Chiefs and there as a guest with Reid, before throwing his strike to another round of huge cheers.
George Brett, the Royals legend who played 21 seasons in Kansas City, was also on hand to take the catch.

Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs quarterback, was watching from home and took to X to say: 'Anyone know if coach Reid threw a strike?' with three crying-with-laughter emojis.
While Thursday was very much a day that belonged to baseball in Kansas City, Reid is already hard at work plotting for a huge upcoming football season for the Chiefs as they pursue an unprecedented 'three-peat'.
On Tuesday night, it emerged the Chiefs are finalizing a fascinating move to recruit Louis Rees-Zammit - a Welshman who retired from rugby in January to pursue a career in the NFL at the age of 23.
Rees-Zammit is bidding to forge a career as a wide receiver - a problem area for the Chiefs last season - and was well known in rugby for his electrifying pace.
The Chiefs have also kept Chris Jones but traded L'Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans, as the roster reshapes after February's Super Bowl triumph over San Francisco 49ers.
