Cillian Murphy has revealed that he has adopted a vegan diet, as he shared the one item he misses the most having previously been vegetarian for over a decade.
Cillian, 47, shared the news of his decision in an episode of the WTF With Marc Maron Podcast, that has resurfaced after first being release in July.
Veganism prohibits the consumption of any food or drink containing meat, dairy and eggs, as part of a practice that sees individuals abstain from the use of any animal products.
Asked by Marc about if he misses eating meat as part of his diet in his diet, Murphy shared: 'I don't miss the meat, no. I've been off the meat for a long time.'
He added: 'I had kind of a relapse, and I didn't feel any better, so I'm back off it again'.

However, he did add that he enjoyed some 'very nice' venison in a brief relapse but reaffirmed that he '[does not] eat [meat] anymore.'
Pressed on which foodstuff he missed the most after switching from being vegetarian to vegan, Cillian said: 'I miss cheese.'
He continued by saying that he had chosen to become for both ethical - as well as health - reasons.
Elaborating on his decision, he said: 'At the beginning it was just, there was loads of mad cow disease and stuff like that happening … it was a bad scene. So I just don't do it now.'
This echoes comments he made in a 2017 interview about a fear of the disease, which is medically known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
He said: 'I was vegetarian for about 15 years. But it was never a moral decision. It was more that I was worried about getting mad cow disease.'
His spell of vegetarianism was interrupted by his preparation for Peaky Blinders, after his trainer advised him to eat meat in an effort to bulk up and looks less 'like a skinny Irish fella'.
Cillian's change in diet comes as it was confirmed that he will make a return to Peaky Blinders for a movie based on the series.

He played gangster Tommy Shelby in the BBC series which ended in 2022 - will begin shooting later this year with the rest of the cast.
Creator Steven Knight shared the exciting news while speaking to BirminghamWorld at the premiere of his new BBC show This Town on March 21.
He said: 'He is definitely returning for it. We're shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth.'
The movie is set to begin filming at Digbeth Loc Studios in Birmingham in September, and will be set during the Second World War.
Cillian had previously said of the project earlier this year: 'I have always said that if Knight delivers a script that I know he can deliver, because he is such a phenomenal writer, I'll be there.
'If we want to watch 50-year-old Tommy Shelby, I will be there. Let's do it.'
