Michael Douglas, 79, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, 54, appeared as loved-up as ever when they were spotted this week golfing in the celebrity enclave of Montecito.
Ever since their romance burst into the public eye in the 1990s, the pair have set heads turning because of their yawning quarter-century age gap.
But in spite of the naysayers, they have soldiered through personal crises to emerge as one of the most enduring couples in Hollywood.
Their marital bliss was on display when they rolled around the green together on a golf cart, with Michael sitting at the wheel.
Catherine - who recently grabbed lunch with her husband in Santa Barbara - could be seen affectionately squeezing his hand as she disembarked from the vehicle before heading across the grass to tee off.

The actress appeared delighted as she hit the golf course with her husband
Even in her sporty golf gear, Catherine was the image of California glamour, emphasizing her lithe frame in a sleek black fitted jacket and matching trousers.
She lent herself a touch of shade with a bronze-tinted pair of sunglasses and a visor and made sure to be in full makeup for her day out at the golf club.
Meanwhile her husband, the son of Old Hollywood icon Kirk Douglas, wore a striped polo shirt with a navy jacket and a set of khaki cargo trousers.
Catherine and Michael have a long history in Montecito, where Kirk kept a holiday home affectionately called the 'Fiddler on the Roof' house because of the sculpture of the Sholom Aleichem character perched on the shingles.
Michael finally sold the house in 2022 for a whopping $6.8 million, two years after his father died at the grand old age of 103.
He and Catherine are now the proud parents of two adult children - a 23-year-old son called Dylan and a 20-year-old daughter called Carys.
Michael and Catherine welcomed Dylan in August 2000 and married at the iconic Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue that November.
Carys, whom Catherine was heavily pregnant with when she danced at the Oscars and accepted her trophy for Chicago, arrived in April 2003.

The following year, Michael revealed in an interview with Closer Weekly that his daughter had decided to start attending boarding school.
Michael and Catherine have retained their sense of humor about their age difference, as he revealed to Jonathan Ross.
'‘We joke about when I reach my 80s and she’s wheeling me around and I’m saying: “Whoa, where are we going?” And she will say: “Cartier darling, Cartier. It’s your favorite store,"' Michael told the late-night host.
The marriage was not without its rough patches, particularly in the early 2010s as Michael battled throat cancer and Catherine was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder.

A few years later, Catherine remarked: ‘I’m very blessed. I have a husband who listens to me and I’m a wife who listens to him. That’s why - though every marriage goes through ups and downs - we’ve come to a place where we couldn’t be better.’
On the Today show a couple of years ago, Catherine spilled that her 'extremely bright' children both want to follow their parents into the acting business.
'Michael and I would be the first parents to say: "You know, maybe you should think of another career," but we've seen how passionate they are about the craft,' she said.
Meanwhile Catherine's recent credits include playing Morticia Addams on the Netflix hit Wednesday and a lead character on the National Treasure television show.
