Los Angeles Clippers star Russell Westbrook was seen in a heated argument with a fan sitting courtside during a game between the Clips and the Charlotte Hornets.

It's not clear what started the testy standoff, but whatever it was, it was related to someone mocking Westbrook's name.

That set the 2017 league MVP off - walking over to the fan and berating him.

‘That’s my family name. Respect that,' Westbrook began. 'I got kids, don’t disrespect my name. You understand?

'Do you understand? I don’t give a f**k do you understand me?’

After this incident occurred, some fans remembered back to earlier this season when he was asked by reporters about disrespecting his name.

'I tell people, Man, when I was first starting the league, maybe not so much. I used to get into it a little bit.

'But now having kids and understanding how important it is, not just my son, but my last name, understanding what Westbrook means, understanding how important that is to my dad, my grandfather, my family. It's very important.

'It's something I stand on, and the respect is a big thing that I value. So the moment that line gets crossed, I won't allow no more.

'I stood for it for years, and now my son is old enough to know what's going on and understanding, Hey, what does that mean? What's that?

'Now I got to stand on it, and we got us to where I'm at, what's going on. I'm always still on that.'

Westbrook went on to score 11 points, five rebounds and four assists in just 20 minutes of game time in the Clippers' 130-118 win. Teammate Paul George dropped an astonishing 41 points in the victory.
