He is an albino wannabe rapper and global influencer who is the heir to his oligarch father's multi-billion pound fortune and a key player in his country's forthcoming elections.

But instead of being in Georgia campaigning for his Dad's political party to retain his iron grip control, Bera Ivanishvil is living a playboy lifestyle in…Brazil.

And now MailOnline can reveal that security experts believe he has been deliberately sent to establish a base in South America in case any Western governments make moves to seize his father's enormous assets.

The rapper and pseudo influencer - so famous in his home country that he is known simply as Bera - is the 29-year-old first born son of billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is said to be the real ruler of the former Soviet country bordering the Black Sea.

Georgia is set to achieve a new profile in the months ahead after its national football team this week qualified for its first ever major tournament - this summer's Euro 2024 in Germany.

That is likely to bring fresh scrutiny to the strange affairs of Ivanishvili, who lives in a Bond villain-style mountain lair surrounded by a zoo and kitted out with a shark tank.

He is said to be controlling Georgian politics at the beck and call of Russia – as fears mount that Vladimir Putin is using him to use him to control the country by stealth.

Ivanishvil is a former president who founded and still controls the political party Georgia Dream - a name chosen by son Bera - which has had control of the country for the last decade.

Now we can reveal that Bera is believed to have been sent to Brazil on the orders of his father as a back-up in case his decision to back Putin against the West blows up in his face and he is forced to flee.

There he lives an apparently enviable lifestyle mixing with the Brazilian celebrity classes with his model wife and young children, hanging out at high profile football matches, going to the beach and making ostentatious gestures like donating a million dollars to save the rainforest.

But security experts have become convinced that his real purpose in Brazil is to prepare an escape route for his father in case he needs to flee with his fortune if his alliance with Putin doesn't work out.

Having seen how Russian-linked oligarchs in London like former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic have been forced to sell assets or have them seized since Putin went to war with Ukraine, Ivanishvili fears his billions wouldn't be safe in Europe or Asia so wants to move it to Brazil in an emergency.

A source who monitors the country told us: 'So far Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family have escaped sanctions while other oligarchs around the globe including Roman Abramovich have been swooped on by law enforcement and had their fortunes seized.

'But questions are being asked as to whether Bidzina Ivanishvili's return to politics and his son's move to Brazil may form part of an overarching strategy to protect their assets should they find themselves targeted in the future.

'Ukraine for example has been very vocal about wanting them sanctioned. But they might be less likely to be stripped of their wealth in Brazil than they would in the UK or Europe.

'Equally, Ivanishvili might be calculating that the West will be more reluctant to move against them if he occupies a senior office after the next election later this year. In effect, it might give him five more years of breathing space.'

It's believed the billionaire considers Global South countries like Brazil the safest shelter for his assets. And he made a sizeable donation to a Brazil forest recovery fund after a fire to ingratiate himself locally before his son was moved there - showing his plan coming together.

Bera, who has also lived in LA, where he hung out with celebrities including Zendaya, also has a younger brother Tsotne who shares his distinctive pallor and hair.

The pair are both bodybuilders and frequently pose together on social media.

The brothers were home schooled and spent their childhoods travelling around Georgia by helicopter, surrounded by their father's large security entourage.- and rarely met other children.

Bera became personally involved in a scandal in Georgia when it was alleged secret service operatives were visiting young people who made critical comments about him on Facebook to force them to delete.

Late last year the US State Department named Ivanishvili's close associate Otar Partskhaladze, a former prosecutor general in Georgia, as a Kremlin spy.

They alleged Putin has 'leveraged Partskhaladze to influence Georgian society and politics for the benefit of Russia'.

Bera - who has been likened to character Joffery Baratheon, a sadistic young king from Game of Thrones - is understood to be godfather to Partskhaladze's grandson.

The spying claims triggered a serious diplomatic rift between the two countries with Georgia's State Security Service counterclaiming that the US was trying to stage a coup to overturn Ivanishvili's ruling party.

The source added: 'The billionaire lifestyle enjoyed by Bidzina Ivanishvili and his son Bera is unfortunately a world away from the grim reality faced by their fellow Georgians in their daily lives.

'While they fritter away millions on zebras and exotic trees, young people are fleeing the country out of a sense of hopelessness over their futures.'

According to recent figures, 20 per cent of Georgians now choose to live abroad rather than under the rule of Ivanishvili's puppet government - which stands accused of cosying up to Moscow.

A dozen statues of Joseph Stalin have been erected in the country since Ivanishvili's party came to power in 2012, as world leaders have repeatedly warned the country is backsliding into the grip of the Kremlin.

Ivanishvili's political opponents are now desperately appealing to the international community to ensure close monitoring of the October vote, after U.S. officials reported evidence of vote buying and intimidation at previous ballots.

Meanwhile, the leader of the opposition, Mikheil Saakashvili, is still being held in prison amid claims he is being poisoned on Putin's orders.

As the international outcry over Saakashvili's treatment grows louder, the country's ceremonial president Salome Zourabichvili flew to London last week to raise awareness of the country's plight, telling the BBC that her country needed a coalition government to prevent it becoming a one-party state.

She said: 'Russian wants to control not only Georgia, but probably parts of Europe.'

Ivanishvili's fortune is estimated at over £6 billion with some stored in crypto currencies to protect it.

He began his career as a cleaner. He later sold phones and computers in Russia, before later setting up one of the country's first private banks. Later he branched out into banking, real estate and metals.

His current lifestyle is a world away from his former past as a cleaner. Photos show the diminutive billionaire lording it over the capital city of Tbilisi from his mountain lair, while others show him feeding zebras in a personal zoo which also houses eight breeds of peacock, pink flamingos and other exotic birds.

The reported centerpiece of his home is a shark tank, and he is said to welcome his guests with the greeting 'welcome to the James Bond house.'

The walls of his office have featured works by Monet, Picasso, Lucian Freud and others. Fearing robbery, he has told many visitors that all the works are fakes, with the originals stored in London.

His greatest extravagance though is uprooting exotic trees from distant locations and replanting them in his courtyard. 'I really love big trees,' he once said. 'Giant trees are my entertainment.'

Many of the trees in Ivanishvili's park were uprooted from Kenya's Kilifi region and exported to Georgia. Some have weighed up to 650-tonnes.

Their removal was met by public outcry in Kenya and accusations of biopiracy, or scientific colonialism. Some of the baobab trees stolen by Ivanishvili are endangered and under further threat from climate change.

Georgian villagers whose trees were uprooted for the park were also expressly told to not speak to journalists or risk termination of the contracts. The cost of moving the trees was alleged in many cases to have been passed on to the Georgian taxpayer, and transnational electricity cables were disconnected to pave the way for transportation of the trees.

Watchdogs are warning that Georgian high society is now in the grip of a corruption epidemic, with rampant cronyism in government.

The country's chief prosecutor is Ivanishvili's former lawyer, while the head of the state's security apparatus was once his bodyguard, and until late June, the minister of health was his former personal physician. A previous minister of economy used to be the chief executive of Mr. Ivanishvili's Cartu Bank.

The watchdog Transparency International published a report on the number of Ivanishvili cronies awarded top jobs in government.

'We don't have petty corruption any more, like police asking for bribes,' Eka Gigauri of Transparency International in Tbilisi said. 'We have elite corruption.'
