Todd Boehly has broken his silence to plead for patience from Chelsea’s frustrated fans, insisting that the ownership will not change their approach as they remain confident their mega-money signings will transform from ‘individuals’ to a ‘team’ in time.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino likes to use his press conferences to call on supporters to trust the ‘process’ and Boehly echoed that sentiment in a rare interview, published after Saturday's 2-2 draw against 10-man Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
Using Forbes magazine to speak rather than the club’s official channels, Boehly said: ‘We just need to let the process develop and give them the time to go from being unbelievable individual players with great skills to fold into a team.’
Seeming to reference the criticism from the Chelsea fanbase this season, Boehly added: ‘The good news is people care so much. And the bad news is people care so much.
‘That leads to times when they’re frustrated with the team and the owners. I get that, but we just have to continue to stay the course.

Chelsea face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Thursday in a Premier League showdown between two clubs whose fans have been frustrated this campaign.
Boehly became the face of the May 2022 takeover of Chelsea but has largely stayed silent, along with his fellow investors. That has faced scrutiny with supporters calling on the club’s overlords to communicate with them on the strategy.
Boehly, who also discussed the Premier League's unique commercial appeal among other topics in his interview, has been the target of a sticker campaign depicting him as a clown alongside Behdad Eghbali and Jose E Feliciano.
