Rebel Wilson has opened up about the physical abuse she endured at the hands of her father, including one incident when he threatened to 'choke and throttle' her.

The Pitch Perfect star, 44, has shared numerous details about her private life in her explosive new memoir Rebel Rising.

In the book, Rebel recalled her father Warwick, who died in 2013, having a violent outburst when she begged him to buy her a Slurpee as a 12-year-old.

The pair were in the car with Rebel's sister Liberty when their father lost his temper after they kept asking him to buy them drinks.

Rebel claimed her father grabbed her leg and screamed at her to 'shut up' before saying he would 'choke' her, 'kill' her and 'throttle' her if she said one more thing.

She wrote: 'He whips around violently like he might actually try to choke me, then and there. He's furious. It's like a switch has flipped.'

Rebel claimed she never dared ask her father to buy her a Slurpee ever again and only asked her mother Sue.

The actress recalled another incident during her childhood years when her father allegedly hit her across the face after he thought she had wet the bed.

Rebel told how she and Liberty had been dabbing their faces with washcloths in bed to try and cool down on a particularly hot night.

The Bridesmaids star had the idea to wet both their mattresses in the hope it would help them cool down quicker.

But when their father entered their bedroom, he thought the pair had wet their beds.

Rebel said he immediately lost his temper and became a 'red-faced giant'.

She wrote: 'He brings his palm up to his cheek and, with the full force of a strong, stocky adult man, hits me as I'm lying there on the wet mattress. Whack. Whack. Whack.'

Rebel noted her father hit Liberty too but hit her the hardest because she was older and was supposed to be 'responsible'.

'We're left with red marks on our arms and legs where we've tried to defend ourselves against the blows,' she added.

Warwick Wilson, who was a professional dog handler, died aged 62 from a heart attack while Rebel was filming American sitcom Super Fun Night.

Rebel's memoir has attracted headlines for her alleged experience working with Sacha Baron Cohen on the 2016 film Grimsby.

She alleged that on the set of the comedy Sacha would ask her to strip off for scenes despite her 'no nudity' rule, in a string of claims which Sacha has strenuously denied and says are contradicted by evidence.

In a memoir passage obtained by People Magazine, she shockingly alleged that Sacha requested she 'stick her finger up his a**' because he thought it would make a funny scene in the film and claimed 'it felt like [he] had sexually harassed me'.

Rebel also claimed the alleged inappropriate experience with the Borat actor led to stress eating.

The Pitch Perfect star recalled how she felt 'completed disrespected, which led to me treating myself with even more disrespect by eating in an extremely unhealthy way'.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Sacha's representative for further comment.

Rebel played Sacha's on-screen girlfriend in the 2016 Louis Leterrier-directed film and has made a series of allegations about her uncomfortable experience during shooting.

Rebel claimed that during filming, Sacha would repeatedly 'mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene', which she alleged was in 'no way essential' to the film's plot.

In her book, which was released in the US on Tuesday, she wrote: 'It felt like every time I'd speak to SBC, he'd mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene. I was like, 'Ha, I don't do nudity, Sacha'.'

Rebel claimed that she was allegedly summoned by a product assistant for an additional scene while shooting in Cape Town, South Africa.

Rebel said: 'OK, well, we're gonna film this extra scene,' SBC says. 'Then he pulls his pants down', SBC says very matter-of-factly: 'OK, now I want you to stick your finger up my a**.' And I'm like, 'What?? … No!!''

Rebel claimed she was shocked and wanted to get out of it, adding: 'I was now scared. I wanted to get out of there, so I finally compromised: I slapped him on the ass and improvised a few lines as the character.'

The Bridesmaids actress also claimed she only agreed to a sex scene with Sacha after several rewrites and recalled allegedly telling the producers that she wouldn't be promoting the film ahead of its release.

Several never-before-seen clips from the movie that failed to make the final cut were obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com and depict Rebel and Sarah's characters using a cellphone to film themselves getting intimate.

According to those close to Sacha, director Louis Leterrier had to discuss any nudity or sex scenes with Rebel before they were shot. They say she agreed to the scene.

They also say that the cell phone was used because the movie called for Rebel and Sacha's characters Dawn and Nobby to use an iPhone to film themselves having sex.

In a statement given to DailyMail.com, Rebel doubled down on her book's description of Sacha as an 'a**hole'.

'It is an a**hole move to release footage of one part of that disgusting episode while leaving out everything that preceded it including my horrified refusal to stick my finger up SBC's butt,' she said.

'This could not have possibly been for the film as the director Louis Leterrier was not even present,' she claimed.

'What this edited video shows is what I had to do in order to get out of the room, as written in Rebel Rising. Releasing unauthorized and misleading behind the scenes video without my approval is SBC's latest way of bullying and gaslighting me.'

Sacha has strongly denied ever mistreating Rebel or pressuring her to be naked in the film.

A spokesperson for Sacha said: 'While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.'

Sacha's team also provided nine anonymous statements from crew members that backed the claim that the scene was in the script.
