Kate Abdo has been tipped to make her boxing debut after footage emerged of the presenter training with boyfriend Malik Scott.

Abdo has been enjoying a season of broadcasting success on CBS Sports, covering the Champions League alongside Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards for overseas audiences.

Having gone public with her relationship with Scott, the boxing trainer, who coaches the likes of Deontay Wilder, targeted Carragher in a recent outburst after the former Liverpool defender joked live on air that Abdo hadn't been loyal to her other half.

Carragher was slammed for his comments, but he and Abdo buried the hatchet before Scott fired back: 'If Kate gets upset then it's a really big deal to me and I'll give him a call and if he doesn't pick up my call, then I'll show up in a physical manner so we can talk like men, so that's not something you should continue to do.'

Now, the former Sky Sports presenter has shown off her boxing skills and been tipped to hop into the ring sooner rather than later after impressing in footage shared on social media.

Speaking on CBS last month, Abdo was asked how her training was going before asking for a fight on air, though she is yet to find an official opponent.

'I'm going to be fighting this summer,' she said. 'I am training for something. Find me the right person, I'll fight 'em.'

Various celebrities have stepped into the ring in recent times via the Misfits promotion, focusing on influencer boxing and made famous by KSI.

Co-founder Mams Taylor has agreed that the promotion would be open to having Abdo on one of their cards, and footage, shared by Scott on Instagram, has suggested she won't be far away from success when she does step inside the ring.

The 42-year-old can be seen in pink and black gym gear, initially performing some mad work with Scott, including firing her own shots and ducking in the routine inside a gym plastered with boxing memorabilia.

In the video captioned: 'Morning work with My Kate,' Scott can then be seen coaching Abdo through some shadow boxing and then helping her improve her footwork.

The video ends with more pad work, with Scott sharing it to his 124,000 followers on Tuesday evening.

'I really wanna support Kate Abdo but Malik Scott is 1-4 as a trainer,' one fan joked on social media in response to the footage, while another wrote: 'She's getting ready for the next time Carragher runs his mouth.'

Another, however, posted: 'Why do all these celebs think they’re a boxer all of a sudden?'
