A mother noticed a change in her children's behaviour after they started watching kids shows from the 90s.
Lauren, from Northern Virginia, US, was tired of the shows her two sons Ollie, three, and Jack, nine months, were watching.
So she started browsing through streaming platforms and came across nostalgic shows she used to watch as a child, including Rolie Polie Olie.
'It brought me straight back to my childhood so I just put it on one day for my toddler. He loved it so I started doing some digging on what other 90s shows I could find for us to watch,' Lauren, 30, told FEMAIL.
She said the older shows had a positive impact on Ollie's sleep and he doesn't fight back when it's time to turn off the TV.
Shows her kids now watch regularly include Little Bear, Arthur, Franklin, Clifford, Magic School Bus and more.
Mum-of-two Lauren (pictured with sons Jack and Ollie) switched out today's kids shows for ones from the 90s, including Bear in the Big Blue House. She told FEMAIL she noticed a change in her toddler's behaviour
She said the older shows had a positive impact on Ollie's sleep and he doesn't fight back when it's time to turn off the TV. Watching 90s shows have also had a positive impact on his sleep
'Before switching to 90s shows, my toddler struggled with turning the TV off. We relied on TV time a lot since my youngest was born with some medical complications,' Lauren said.
'But with a lot of screen time came a lot of meltdowns and tough transitions when it was time to move on.
'When we started watching 90s kids shows, Ollie really enjoyed the show, but when it was time to turn it off and play he didn't put up a fight at all!'
Not only that, but she noticed the older kids shows are less stimulating compared to shows on TV today and also foster creativity and imagination.
'The shows were made to teach kids lessons, not just provide entertainment. They don't have all the flashy graphics or high stimulation like today's kids shows,' Lauren said.
'Today's shows just have so much stimulation and could even be considered "addictive".

Watching 90s shows have also had a positive impact on her toddler's sleep.
'Ollie was struggling with waking up in the middle of the night saying he was scared. I really think it was based on the movies and shows he was watching on tv, that was causing him to wake up feeling scared,' she said.
Since changing the channel, almost as if she was flicking the switch back in time, the children now watch 90s shows most of the time.
'Life is all about balance and the same goes for our children,' Lauren said.
'I think I'm a bit more partial to 90s shows based on the changes I saw with my child, but do we still watch Disney movies and some Ms. Rachel or Bluey? Of course! But for the majority of the time, we stick to more simplistic child shows from the 90s!'
