Saturday Night Live stars have hit back after a barbed TikTok video claimed the show has 'never hired a hot woman' in its 49 year history.

The furore began when TikTok user Jahelis posted a video on March 21 saying: 'Am I the only person who’s ever noticed that SN  has never hired a, like, hot woman?

'I’m not saying that every single woman who has been a cast member on SNL is ugly, just that none of them have ever been, like, hot.'

Specifically calling out cast member Heidi Gardner, Jahelis said Gardner is 'often used as the super hot and super dumb' girl in skits - but said 'she's not that pretty' but 'I guess technically the most conventional hot female on this cast.'

Jahelis reflected on whether the lack of 'hot' women on the show was intentional because 'once we see women as super funny, we have a hard time seeing them as also both sexy and attractive.'

She added that SNL alum Maya Rudolph was 'really beautiful' and Kristen Wiig 'very conventionally attractive' but said she didn't perceive either of them as hot.

Jahelis said Jimmy Fallon was a 'conventionally super hot guy' while heaping praise on Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis and current cast member Bowen Yang.

Cast member Sarah Sherman posted on X: 'Just found out I’m not hot. Please give me and my family space to grieve privately and uglily at this time.'

New cast member Chloe Troast used the Jahelis's video before singing Christina Aguilera's Beautiful.

Last month Gardner revealed she and her spouse Zeb Wells have broken up.

The Kansas City, Missouri native, 40, made the personal reveal on The Liz Moody Podcast, as she said she 'went through the end of a relationship' in reference to Webb, 46, who she exchanged vows with in 2010.

Gardner said that using the phrase 'end' felt 'weird to say' in talking about the split with Wells, a writer for Marvel Comics, who she did not refer to by name, nor specify the time when they parted ways.

Gardner said she knows 'that person will always be in my life and it will transform in a different way.'

Gardner, who's been a cast member on the NBC comedy staple since 2017, made it appear that she and her estranged spouse remained as amicable terms, as she said she still has 'all the like love and respect in the world' for the person in question.

'It was just a couple year period of transition and grief and hope and loss and all of those things,' Gardner said. 'But I will say that during that time I feel like I never wasted a day in getting to know myself, becoming a better version of myself and becoming a better friend and future partner I think.'

Gardner said she gleaned valuable lessons in the wake of the painful life experience, calling it 'a really cool reward out of something that was very painful and uncomfortable.'

She said her inner circle of female friends were essential amid the tough timeframe.

'I will say the biggest thing I learned in that time is lean on the women in your life and your girlfriends,' Gardner said. 'I already had amazing friends and family, but I will just say that women showed up in such an incredible way.'

Gardner said that her inner circle made clear that moving ahead, her 'romantic partner ... does not need to be [her] emotional rock.

'Oftentimes the women in my life just know better things to say and better ways I think to love me and take care of me in some of those moments.'

Gardner, who has also done extensive work as a voice actor on shows such as SuperMansion, Alien News Desk and Bratz, said that it's important for friends to be present for one another amid tough times.

'We all know no matter what kind of relationships they're up and down with your partner one day, you are gonna love them more than anything and you're gonna be praising them to your friends,' Gardner said. 'And on some days they're gonna feel like your worst enemy and you're gonna be cursing them to your friends.
