A Playboy Bunny fight has broken out, with Holly Madison accusing Crystal Hefner of copying her writing style in their respective memoirs.

Holly, who shot to fame as a Playboy model and dated Hugh Hefner from 2001 to 2008, published her book Down The Rabbit Hole in 2015.

Meanwhile Crystal, who rose from being a Playmate to Hugh's last wife, released her memoir Only Say Good Things this January.

Both women starred on the reality show The Girls Next Door about life at the Playboy Mansion, where a feud between them simmered onscreen.

Now, on a new episode of the Lady Gang podcast, Holly's claws came out again as she claimed Crystal's book had an identical 'narrative voice' to hers.

'Anybody who's read my book that came out eight years ago and then read her book, tell me the narrative voice doesn't sound exactly the same,' she fumed.

Holly, who apparently worked with the same publishing team that brought out Crystal's book, said the similarity 'drives me up the wall.'

She clarified that 'when I say narrative voice, I don't mean - of course we're gonna be writing about a lot of the same things. Like, we dated the same person. We might even come to some of the same conclusions.'

Holly then sniped: 'But when - like, I was reading it and there were some times I was like: "I feel like I'm reading my own book. This is creepy."'

She said Crystal 'weaves fairytale references in and out just like I did, and uses a lot of the same, you know, psychological, you know, catchphrases and things like that.'

By way of comparison, Holly said that she did not notice any such similarities between her memoir and the one written by Hugh's other ex Kendra Wilkinson.

'Like if you take my book and Kendra's book, it's two completely different people, even though we lived there at the same time,' Holly explained on the podcast. 'Like, it's two completely different voices, as it should be.'

In spite of her objections to the prose style, Holly said she was 'supportive' of Crystal 'telling her story. I think we probably went through a lot of the same things in that relationship, and a lot of it's been very relieving for me to hear.'

She felt that her view of life in the Playboy Mansion was vindicated when she heard Crystal talk about having to 'walk on eggshells' and feeling as if 'she was gonna have the rug pulled out from her - under - any moment.'

Holly noted however that the alleged similarity in writing styles 'bothers me,' especially since she felt she was 'crucified' for having been the 'first' ex-resident of the Playboy Mansion to air out the sordid details of life there.

She pointed out that when she released her own book, Hugh was alive and the Me Too movement had yet to sweep the entertainment industry.

Crystal's book paints a bleak picture of Hugh's last years, during which she claimed the Playboy Mansion was in a state of deterioration, infested with black mold.

She accused Hugh of being a 'controlling' husband who expected her home by 6pm daily and fostered a competitive dynamic between the bombshells in his orbit.

Her memoir included anecdotes about her procuring women to have orgies with Hugh, as well as about her becoming his 'caregiver' during his final decline.

In Crystal's telling of the tale, she was never genuinely 'in love' with Hugh, who had a 'cruel streak' and was addicted to painkillers and Viagra.

She also claimed that the 'rivalry' between her and Holly on The Girls Next Door was stirred up by the bosses for the sake of the show.

Crystal famously made a splash on her first episode of The Girls Next Door by defiantly declaring: 'I'm not the new Holly. She's the old me.'
