A doomsday prepper has revealed the essential items everyone should stock up on in order to ensure their survival in the event of an apocalyptic disaster.

Carrie, who does not disclose her full name, began her preparations after moving from California to Bozeman, Montana, with husband Colton.

Since making her move, the prepper has been busy readying herself for all manner of emergencies - whether caused by a natural disaster, foreign conflict or another pandemic.

The content creator, who posts as the Housewife Prepper online, has now built up a loyal following of more than 218,000 on her TikTok, where she advises fans how they too can be prepared for any kind of societal collapse.

Carrie uploaded her first prepping video after a Chinese 'spy' balloon drifted across US airspace.

It was first spotted over the skies of her new hometown of Montana before being shot down by a fighter jet over the Atlantic in February 2023.

She told Fox News: 'I was like, oh my gosh, this is a no-controlled situation. We need to start preparing for anything.

'We're allowing this other country in our airspace, what's next?'

Her initial clip proved to be so popular that Carrie decided to continue issuing advice.

In one of her most popular videos, which has been viewed more than 2.2 million times, she explained: 'When Russia and China attack the USA, you're going to need these.'

She then advised having a 'T.R.A.P device installed to ensure your generator will still work if an EMP hits' and storing all electronics in a Faraday bag.

Carrie also urged followers to secure a solar crank radio, emergency portable water filters, solar generator, battery stock pile, tri-fuel generator and an emergency long-term food supply.

The content creator added in the caption: 'It's not if it's going to happen... [it's when].'

'We should all be aware of what's going on and take care of our families ourselves and not rely on the government to take care of us in a disaster situation,' she told the outlet.

Husband Carlton also claimed that the shift had already begun with more people than ever believing that 'prepping is more of a way of life and just something that needs to be done, not something that was negatively looked at.'

And it seems that the prepper market is indeed becoming increasingly popular.

Recent research suggests that the global survival tools market will be worth $2.46 billion by 2030 - growing at a compound annual growth rate of more than seven per cent from 2023 to 2030.

Elaborating further, Carrie said: 'Everyone should be prepping. Women, we are naturally gatherers, we're the ones that go to the store and we do all the shopping.

'So, I think that's just I grew up with those traditional values and I'm using that in my marriage.'

She explained that her habits likely stem from her father who always made sure the family was ready to brace for earthquakes.

He would stock her car with dried food and other survival supplies in case of rapid evacuation.

Carlton concluded that it was important to have a 'backup plan to the backup plan.'
