Angie Harmon's dog did bite an Instacart driver before the animal was shot and killed by the former employee over the Easter weekend, police sources have confirmed.
The 51-year-old former Law & Order star revealed in an Instagram post on Monday that her dog Oliver had been killed by the shopper after they dropped off groceries to her home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Sources inside the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told TMZ the deliveryman, known only as Christopher, did have bitemarks on his body.
They added no charges will be pressed against the man.
Christopher did have a past history of arrest, but he had not been convicted of a felony previously, and was entitled to carry the firearm under the state's open carry law.
The police say they will be issuing no more information in the case.

The actress, 51, announced her dog, Oliver, had been killed by the Instacart employee over the Easter holiday weekend in an emotional social media post earlier this week
However, the Instacart shopper, whom Harmon claimed was working under another person's name, will no longer be able to work for the service as his actions violated their code of conduct.
The grieving actress revealed the family tragedy in a poignant message days after Oliver was killed.
'This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver,' she wrote, alongside several sweet photos of the deceased pet. 'He got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog.'
In a statement provided to DailyMail.com, Instacart addressed Angie's claims.
'We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform,' a spokesperson said.
'We have been in direct contact with the customer and are cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation.'
Since making that statement, the service told TMZ the driver's account had been deactivated, meaning he will not be able to provide service for the platform again.
She called the shooter's actions 'despicable and inexcusable' in a later Instagram Stories post
Harmon claimed the driver was a man using a woman's profile, which she reposted. The driver is now known as Christopher

Harmon claimed the driver delivered her groceries before shooting her dog Oliver. She disputed claims of 'self defense,' as the driver allegedly appeared unharmed
Reflecting on her loss, she reshared a post from Daily Bible Verses, which read: 'God is saying to you today, ‘Don’t give up. I am your strength. Despite everything you’ve dealt with this year, I’m pulling you through.
‘I’ve never left you and I’m not going to let you down. Things will get better. Trust Me now.'
In her Instagram post, Harmon claimed that the Instacart shopper knew that he was not being recorded before the shot the dog, noting that her Ring security camera was charging inside at the time of the incident.
'Our Ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded,' she wrote.
Harmon noted that the driver was released by police after claiming that he shot the dog in 'self defense.'
However, the Rizzoli & Isles star disputed that her dog had attacked the driver, writing: 'He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn.'
She went on to describe a chilling interaction in which the driver allegedly admitted to killing her dog.
'He shot our dog with my daughters & myself at home & just kept saying, “Yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah I did,"' she wrote.
Harmon claimed the driver was a man using a woman's profile, which she reposted.
'We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member,' she concluded, while adding '#RIP OLLIE.'

She included a short clip in which she theatrically cleared her throat off camera because a snoozing Oliver was sitting on the out-of-bounds sofa, before another woman gave him head scratches.
The police department added that it was not seeking out any other individuals in response to the shooting.
At this time, TMZ reported that law enforcement officers have 'closed' the case and 'refused to release the deliveryman's statement or alleged injuries.'
Additionally, the outlet reported that the police 'would not provide any specific narrative as to what the dog did to show aggression or why it was self-defense.'
During the incident, Harmon's lawyer, John Buric, said she was upstairs putting food in the squirrel feeder while her children 'were in the backyard when they heard a gunshot.'
After hearing the sound, her kids reportedly 'rushed to the front of the house and found Oliver lying there in a pool of blood.'

Harmon described the deliveryman as 'braggadocious' about killing her beloved pup and said he repeatedly kept saying: 'Yeah, I just shot your dog.'
Harmon subsequently wrote a message to the delivery driver in her Instagram stories.
'To the man who took Ollie away from us: your actions are despicable and inexcusable,' she seethed. 'You've not only robbed us of a beloved member of our family but you've also traumatized us beyond measure.'
She said it was 'beyond comprehension' that 'someone could commit such a heartless act.'
