Morgan Wallen's joke about Taylor Swift during his concert in Indiana backfired on Friday night.
The singer, 30, who followed the hitmaker's lead in re-recording some of his earlier work, kicked off his One Night At A Time tour at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis Thursday.
As the country crooner took a break on night two to thank the crowd for showing up to support him, he did a little bragging.
'This is single most attended concert in the history of this building, and we're the first to do it for two nights in a row' the Last Night singer told the audience who answered with loud whoops and applause.
He continued with a good natured, 'I'm going to say that until Taylor Swift comes to town.' However, the crowd was not amused, as they booed at the mention of Swift.

Swift recently added three nights in a row of shows at the Lucas Oil Center for November 1, 2, and 3, which led to Wallen's comments in the first place. All three shows quickly sold out (Pictured in Sydney in February)
Some in the audience cheered, but the majority began to boo the sentiment loudly, shouting down any opposite opinions.
Morgan tried to appease the crowd and show there was no animosity towards Swift.
'We aint got to boo, we aint got to boo,' he told the crowd who continued expressing their displeasure.
Not knowing what to say next, he thanked his fans for having his back.
'Yall are too much. I'm a Morgan Wallen fan & a Swiftie,' wrote one commenter.
'I’m a fan of both and will not compare their success because they’re both very successful singers,' maintained another.
'Love Morgan! He will always have a fan in me, but a lot of his fans are questionable,' penned a fan.
'lol I’m also a Swiftie!! Love to see my fave artists thriving and not downing each other!'
Morgan seems to be a fan of the superstar himself. Video from one of his concerts in 2022 shows the singer and the crowd faithfully, if not tunefully, singing Swift's hit All To Well
