Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman insisted he is not 'woke' and that squatters have 'no rights' amid outrage over an increase in home break-ins that have led to intruders claiming residency.

'Squatters have no rights,' the liberal lawmaker told the New York Post. 'How can you even pretend that this is anything other than you're just breaking the law?'

'It's wild, that if you go away on a long trip, for 30 days, and someone breaks into your home and suddenly they have rights,' he added. 'This is crazy. Like if somebody stole your car, and then they held it for 30 days, then somehow you now have some rights?'

'I am not woke,' Fetterman asserted.

Recently a pair of New York City squatters sued a woman whose home they had broken into Last month, and set up mattresses, a flat screen TV and a massage table inside the $530,000 house that they claimed to have legally leased months earlier and refused to leave.

Fetterman also tore into liberal crime policies that conservatives have blamed for the fatal shooting of NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller.

'I have gone to police funerals,' Fetterman said. 'If this individual is convicted, then he should spend the rest of his life and in prison, and never have an opportunity to get out.'

Diller was allegedly killed last month by a man who had 21 prior arrests.

'If this individual is convicted, then he should spend the rest of his life in prison, and never have an opportunity to get out,' Fetterman concluded. 'If you have those kinds of established records, it doesn't serve any greater goal to allow people that are offending, offending, offending and allow them to not be held accountable.'

Fetterman also broke with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer over his call for new elections in Israel.

'It's reasonable if you want to criticize, but to call for effectively like a regime change, I disagree,' Fetterman said. 'I didn't agree because Israel is a democracy, it is our key special ally. And our nation wouldn't appreciate any kind of foreign input. So why should we do that for Israel?'

Schumer last month said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government 'no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7.'

The New York Democrat said 'Netanyahu has lost his way by allowing his political survival to take the precedence over the best interests of Israel.'

Progressives had celebrated Fetterman's win over Dr. Mehmet Oz, thinking the former lieutenant governor, a longtime advocate of LGTQ causes and legalized cannabis, would be a champion for their causes.

But in recent days he's tacked to the right on some issues, most notably after the outbreak of war between Israel and Gaza.

On Thursday he voiced his opposition to President Biden's warning that future aid to Israel could be conditioned.

'In this war against Hamas — no conditions for Israel,' he said.

Recently Fetterman lost three of his top communications staffers to other left-leaning offices.
