The future of Guy Ritchie's latest hit series The Gentlemen - which broke record views on Netflix - has finally been unveiled.

The action comedy show is reportedly 'already in talks to deliver a second series' - as 'Netflix chiefs are keen for a sequel'.

The star-studded British gangster drama is one of the platform's biggest hits of the year after it reached 44million views in just four weeks.

It seems Netflix bosses are eager to bring a sequel to screens - potentially reuniting the main stars which include Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Ray Winstone, as well as Daniel Ings and Vinnie Jones.

'It's going to be quite a challenge getting the same actors back together, but Netflix chiefs are keen for a sequel,' a source told The Sun.

'Another hurdle will be securing Guy for the series as he already has several movie projects in the pipeline this year.

'But the success of series one has already convinced them there's huge potential for a follow-up.'

Hollywood sensation Guy, 55, has crafted a fresh take on his 2019 movie, but features an entirely new cast of characters.

Ray, 67, stars as Bobby Glass, a career criminal from the East End of London who founded an industrial cannabis empire.

Meanwhile Theo, 39, plays Edward Horniman - who inherits 'his father's sizeable estate only to discover' it's a 'weed empire owned by the legendary Mickey Pearson' - and Daniel, 38, plays his disinherited eldest brother Freddie.

Ray and Theo star alongside the likes of Chanel Cresswell, Joely Richardson and Gaia Weiss, as well as Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito, which plays a sly wealthy entrepreneur.

Kaya, 32, plays Susie Glass - Ray's character Bobby's effortlessly stylish and steely daughter who runs the day-to-day business of her father's empire.

In an endless series of twists and turns, a host of unsavory characters from Britain's criminal underworld want a piece of Eddie's operation.

Speaking before the release of series one, Guy said: 'The world of 'The Gentlemen' is a little bit of me, I'm thrilled that with Netflix, Miramax and Moonage we have this opportunity to inhabit it once again.

'We're looking forward to bringing fans back into that world, introducing new characters and their stories and I am excited to be doing it with this extremely talented cast.'

As well as creating the TV series adaptation, Guy also directed the first two episodes.

The 2019 movie starred Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Colin Farrell, Jeremy Strong, Henry Golding, and Hugh Grant among many others.

It proved to be a box office success, grossing just over $115 million against a reported budget of $22 million.

In the film version, Mickey Pearson (played by Matthew) was a drug lord that tried to sell off his profitable marijuana business to a dynasty of billionaires.

The Crown star Daniel Ings recently recalled a raucous drama school party where he first met his The Gentleman co-star Theo.

The pair plays on-screen brothers, but the actor has revealed their relationship actually began much earlier, when the duo were studying together at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Speaking on Wednesday's episode of This Morning, Daniel candidly revealed he bumped into a then 'roaring drunk' Theo at a house party.

He told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary: 'I was playing chess with someone in the living room and he came in. Later on he came back and said, "Are you still playing? You know there's a party out there!"'

Daniel continued: 'An hour later he came back again roaring drunk and collapsed the chess board and tossed it across the room and shouted, "Stop playing chess!"

'Later everyone had their faces pressed against the window as he let fireworks off in the garden with his bare hands.'
