UConn was not the only big winners on Monday night, as Barstool boss Dave Portnoy won $2.76million from the Huskies' defeat over Purdue in the national championship.
After the game, which UConn won 75-60, Portnoy shared a betslip he had placed before the start of the tournament proper on March 20 - as he forked down $600,000 at +360 odds on the Huskies repeating as champs.
And UConn did just that after rolling through their six tournament opponents with an average margin of victory of 23.3 points.
'The greatest bet of my life. Thank you #uconn,' Portnoy said.
'Destroyed everybody and everything in their path. They'd win the tournament 100 out of 100 times. The biggest win of my life by a mile.'

Connecticut was in fact the pre-tournament favorites to claim the title, while Houston was second-favorites at +550 and Purdue was third favorites at 700.
The Boilermakers got a ridiculous 37 points and 10 rebounds from National Player of the Year Zach Edey but it wasn't enough as UConn became the first back-to-back champ in 17 years.
'For the last 25, 30 years UConn's been running college basketball,' UConn coach Dan Hurley said afterwards.
The Huskies were paced by a balanced scoring attack as Tristen Newton (20 point), Cam Spencer (11), Stephon Castle (15), and Donovan Clingan (11) also scored in double figures.
After the game, at the school's campus in Storrs, a 'limited' amount of vandalism occurred with five arrests being made.
'On the whole, it was a very good night on the Storrs campus and the university looks forward to continuing to celebrate our phenomenal student-athletes, their coaches, and this incredible win,' UConn officials said.
